I love staying here! I generally prefer staying at serviced apartments compared to hotels because apartments have a washer and dryer (I hate packing used clothes) and they are more spacious than hotels.
The interiors of Medina are the best I've seen so far. Their rooms (pariticularly in this location) have a very sophisticated Zen feel to it.
Most of the people who I have suggested this place to and have tried it, loved it too!
Unique Quality: No views here. Pool is your usual lap pool. It's the room you're staying in that would make it worth your while.
The building was actually the old Post Office which adds to its charm.
Directions: Go to Central Station via George St. It's the stone building between Central station and Mecure Hotel.
This place was paid for me as I was up in Sydney working so I have no idea what it costs.
It is a very nice place indeed and very convenient if you are arriving by train at Central Station. It couldn't be closer.
The building was the old GPO and is quaint - but the rooms and foyers are rather generic. But comfortable. Except I couldn't make my shower work and the bath was kind of odd. I had trouble getting into and out of it.
The staff were very agreeable and I got my wake up call I asked for.
The windows wouldn't open which I hate.
I didn't have time to use the pool and gym and sauna but I checked them out and the pool is indeed a lovely oasis in the centre of Sydney.
There is a very nice coffee bar off the foyer to get your breakfast. I often use it when I am not staying at the hotel.
My room was very quiet, I was happy with the security. You have to use your room card to access the lift. In this part of town that brings peace of mind.
It is a top place. If you want to be really central it is quiet and clean and peaceful.
