Tucked behind well established shrubbery on the busy Darlinghurst Rd, the hotel is a conversion of those fab double-storey, front balconied Victorian homes. The initial reaction inside is that its somewhat on the camp side - there's a lot of various shades of pink and some flamboyant decor going on! But its not too in your face and the staff are great - couldn't be more helpful. Rooms are either in the older part of the original building or in the new extensions at the back. All standard rooms are to be found in the extension - and they are seriously hip and seriously stylish but also seriously comfortable!
The rooms face into the courtyard, along one wall of which there is a fountain running entire length of the yard (I think it was also a plunge pool but as it was raining and nippy, it wasn't something I thought of enquiring about at the time :)). As they're out back, there's no sound whatsoever from the busy Darlinghurst St. Rooms are big and well stocked - a mini-kitchenette in the corner, along with added extras such as DVD and CD player, well-stocked mini bar (including several different flavours of condom!). The design of the rooms is also a serious issue - certainly one of the most stylish places I've stayed in in this price bracket (half price through wotif.com)
STYLE AND A LOT OF FUN. EXPENSIVE WITHOUT INTERNET DEALS THOUGH.
