Location, location, location!

Our party of four had a pleasant stay at the Metro, I'll definetely go back again. We paid $150 each for 3 nights for one room. The apartment was fully self contained with all kitchen mod cons and a washing machine and clothes dryer. Full size bath with plenty of hot water and a built in hair dryer. It was on 2 levels with the main bedroom [double bed] and bathroom upstairs and lounge and kitchen d/stairs. The sofa bed pulled out to sleep 2. TV, air con and security dead locks. It took us till the end of our stay to get in the front door easily! The only disapointing feature was the tiny balcony we had to share with a large air/con unit. But the views over Darling Harbour and the city were spectacular. Picture coming soon.

Unique Quality: The most outstanding feature was it's location to places such as Cockle Bay - just across the road. The city - we were in it. The Rocks, Paddy's Markets and China Town a half hour walk away - if that.
There was a great pub right across the road. It's called the Slip Inn and it is a famous place because it's where Mary Donaldson met Prince Frederick!. They had $5 meals on certain nights. Picture coming soon.
There is also a small convenience store next door for milk, bread and groceries.
The staff? well we only saw one friendly receptionist and the cleaner, they were both very nice and helpful. Situated right on the corner of Sussex and King streets it really was in a great location. Picture coming soon. Please call back.

service apartments in sydney CBD

by amarchawla

Hi,

I would really appreciate your help. We are a family - 2 adults and 2 kids -13yr and 9yr, travelling first time to Sydney.

Can somebody suggest a good service apartment for 9 days, starting May 14th, 2010 till May 22nd, 2010 in Sydney, CBD area (I think that would be best place to stay, also open for other areas)

Ideally, I'd like a 1 bedroom with king size bed and one sofa bed in living room.

My budget is to keep it under Aus $2000 for the stay. I looked up wotif.com and other sites, but could not get this combination.

Thanks a lot for all your help.
-Amar

Meriton Apartments are really great. There are two places in Sydney CBD. One is in Pitt Street right in the heart of the shopping district and the other is closer to Darling Harbour (Kent Street, I think). Can recommend as I have had many friends stay there from time to time especially in Pitt Street. I would think your budget should be OK. Rates change depending on how high up you are.

I have stayed at Seasons apartments Darling Harbour and always satisfied, there are one bedroom apartments which have a kitchen, sitting area, bedroom and sofabed in the sitting area. Just be aware that there are also studio apartments there which will be too small for your requirements. I paid $140 per night in January.

Try http://www.questapartments.com.au/ and maybe select one of the suburban properties. Quest tend to be 4 star and are very good. City properties may be too high price wise.

Might be worth e mailing some of the Quest Apartments after you've checked out the availability section and trying to "do a deal" based on the 9 day stay. By e mailing a person rather than the computer system quite often it makes for a better deal.

There are budget apartments called Metro Apartments Darling Harbour.
They have mezzanine style apartments right near Darling Harbour only a few minutes walk to the aquarium and wildlife world.
Their website is:
www.metrohotels.com.au
Then follow the links to the Darling Harbour hotel as they have several properties.

For a cheaper option why not try searching airbnb.com. Its cheaper, the host rent you out a room & they let you use their kitchen & bathroom, lounge

Plus the hosts are really nice
