We had a nice little one bedroom apartment. The place is a short walk from Darlng Harbour, Chinatowm Hyde Park, Botanic Gardens . Shops , QVB and everything. Very useful is the large fridge after a visit to the fishmarket....
Unique Quality: G+Excellent location
Directions: Just off George Street you can go out of the hotel turn left and go more or less straight on to Darling Harbour about four blocks or so
I found a really good flight /hotel package to Sydney ( from Auckland, New Zealand) and chose this hotel from those on offer.
It looked okay on the website and seemed to be in a good location so we went ahead and booked.
We arrived around 9am and we were told the room would be ready around noon. The lobby and reception area was nicely decorated, spacious and modern looking so we were quite pleased with our choice.
When we eventually made it to our room the expectations all flew out the window.
The room was large and clean but the bed covers .... one had a stain and the other a burn hole ... hmmm.
The furnishings were a bit tatty but the worst thing was the bathroom. The grouting was atrocious and looked dirty and grubby and seemed to be crumbling away.
I heard good things about the Deluxe King and Queen rooms but steer clear of the Standard Twin ( what we had). Serves us right for penny pinching I suppose.
The location was okay and we managed to walk to most places without too much bother. it is only a couple of blocks to the nearest train station as well.
It was a quiet location and we weren't bothered by any outside noise.
The area felt safe at all times , even walking back around midnight was okay.
.
Unique Quality: The staff.
They were a pleasure to deal with.
Directions: Close to Chinatown and Paddy's Market .
