Hotel for family of four in Late May

by travelinfam

Mom, Dad, 13 and 14 year old girls would like a place to stay in Sydney. We do not need 5-star treatment. This is our first time in Australia. We are thinking of going to church near Bondi Beach and looking around there afterwards one day, taking the train to/from Blue Mts for rappelling one day, see the Bridge, Opera House, "usual" first time tourist spots on another, so nearness to public transportation is desired. I may be dreaming, but would like a place less than $250/night. Short walking (in a safe place) to transportation OK. Kitchenette and / or washer would be heavenly if possible.
Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.
:)
(May 25-30 and June 1-3) Is when we'll be in town, and do not mind two different locations.

Have a look at an Australian website stayz.com.au. It has lots of accommodation. You should be able to find something in your price range and walking to and from public transport is safe in most areas in Sydney. Also have a look at oakshotelsresorts.com. They have a few self catering apartments buildings around central Sydney.

If you go into the website wotif you can tick kitchen/kitchette. The first apartments that appear are Meriton at Bondi and each apartment has a laundry.
