Take a taxi to the hotel, don’t try to use the subway system. The hotel is located 2 blocks uphill from the North Sydney subway stop and then partway down a side street. The hotel sign is very small and easy to miss. The hotel is down a paved driveway but is masked by the surrounding trees and gardens.
This is quite a long ways from either of the airports. Downtown is much closer. But the traffic noise and hustle and bustle are very muted at this hotel since it is basically situated on a side street and up away from even that street. Some of the rooms have a nice harbor view, though mine was partially blocked by other high-rise buildings in the area.
My room came with a small kitchenette that had a small oven, hotplate and microwave oven. I was on the 7th floor and passed a washer and dryer in the laundry room getting to my quarters. The electricity is 240 volts so if you are American you will need adapters for Australia as well as a transformer. Electrical things are expensive in Australia so bring your own.
