Palm Beach Home and Away
by naomixxx
Myself and a friend are planning to go to Sydney end of January we are mad Home and Away fans does anyone know the best tours to Palm Beach and around the Home and Away set, and is there any chance they let you visit Channel 7 studios and what days do they film on Palm Beach.
Much appreciated if anyone can help with any info.
Many thanks in advance.

I am not aware of tours for Home & Away- but you can catch an express bustoPalm Beach. There are a number leaving from the city every day. It is a pleasant area, and maybe once there- locals could give you more info.
Have lunch on the beachfront.

I agree, catch the Palm Beach bus--I am not aware of any tours either.
You could ring or email channel 7 regarding a tour through the studio.

You can get the L90 bus from Sydney city centre and that will bring you to Palm beach. There are no tours and you cannot go inside the set but it is definitely worth the visit! I think this could be because the area it is filmed is quite up market and tours would make it extra busy.
The beach was great to see and the surf club-although you cant go inside. The beach behind the 'Summer Bay' beach is also beautiful and worth exploring. I'm not sure of the filming times maybe you could contact the studios and find out. When we went they weren't filming but we weren't expecting it so we weren't dissapointed.
Hope you enjoyx

One alternative is to take the ferry to Manly and get the bus from there to Palm Beach. You could do this for one leg of the journey and the full bus trip for the other. It's a nice scenic trip.

They film in the studios in Epping, which is not really on anybody's scenic route! If you're lucky you may catch them filming on location at Palm Beach but you won't find yourself on TV - they only take extras through official casting agents

Travel Tips for Sydney
AMP Tower - Sydney Harbor
by Sajt
This tower give you a nice view about Sydney. Good if you visit this place firs time, you can find the nicest places from there. To get high a littlebit expensive, but if you use your international student card, this is not so bad. Almost in the middle on the picture you can see the Opera House too. That was my firs time that I saw the Harbor Bridge and the Opera House.
Go on one of the CRUISE...
by S_R_NAIDU
Go on one of the CRUISE VESSELS from Circular Quay and enjoy the splendid scenes. This is a picture of my daughter, grand daughter and son enjoying a cruise on the 'SYDNEY FERRIES' from CIRCULAR QUAY to DARLING HARBOR and return. An adult return ticket costs A$8.40. and valid only on the day of issue.
Rugby
by martin_nl
I came to Sydney during the Rugby World Cup. I had never ever seen a game of rugby and I didn't know the rules. Man do those ozzies love a gam of rugby. Every where you go you are confronted with the game. Right next to Darling Harbour they even made a Rugby World Cup shop where you could buy all the shirts of the participating countries (not Holland though....) and there were competitions going on all day. I only visited once and we shot some funny pics pretending to play rugby in the shop. It was a lot of fun I can assure you!!
Australia Day by the harbour!
by lachydragon
Well, its a custom in my family! We always find a spt along the harbour to celebrate Australia's National Day on January 26th. There is always things to watch on the water and the harbour ferries get decorated up and have a 'ferry-race' up the harbour.
this photo is taken from Bradley's Head - accessible by ferry from Circular Quay across to Taronga Zoo and then walking around the track until you reach the parkland.
Packing List
by Skylink
There is a TRS scheme where you can receive a refund of GST tax for purchases over $300 in one store (purchased at different times on different receipts). These items must be carried in one's hand luggage according to the brochures. One must keep the tax invoices (all the receipts I got were labelled as receipt/tax invoice).
