can anyone tell me if they,ve used priceline to bid for a hotel in sydney. If so, what kind of a rate for what star level would be appropriate.
And thanks to all for all the post's back from my last question.

I have used lastminute and agoda to book my hotels in Australia. Compared to other sites, I really got good rates. At least compare the prices in these websites before making any booking.

Dont go via priceline. They just look at the price and get you any bad hotel in that price. Their main objective is to meet your price. Seach for hotels your self on the net. Look at the site and judge it for yourself, what you are looking for and which hotel best serves and matched what you are looking for. Its your vacation dont ruin it by booking via priceline.

I stayed at the Travelodge on Wentworth. The hotel was outstanding and very reasonable.

Travel Tips for Sydney
Australian Daily Juice
by MrKarl
Bit of a strange tip, but the Australian fruit juice is something which most definitely sticks out in my mind.
Coming from Britain we have nothing like this to choose from, so 100% fresh juice in tonnes of different flavours is a novelty!
Check it out when you're there.
Wave Aid Fireworks
by Zanzibargirl
The concert was held to raise money for the victims of the Boxing Day Tsunami across Asia. More than 48000 people jammed packed full the SCG in Sydney and it raised approximately $2 Million dollars for aid.
At the end of the day I would have to say that everyone there felt like they had had an experience that was meaningful and gave something to a cause. All capped off with some fireworks and a performance by Midnight Oil.

See the Harbour Bridge. This view is from the roof of my hotel in 'The Rocks.' You can make a reservation to 'walk' the arch of the bridge - I understand it requires a good level of fitness and no fear of heights!
The Tip on Tipping
by authoress
The general rule in Australia is - don't do it! If you feel you must leave a tip, go ahead and round up but locals generally don't do much more than that. It's not like in the U.S. where wait staff rely on tips for their wages. So don't feel bad. Enjoy your meal and leave it at that.
Depends on the season . . . obviously!!
by kooka3
Summers are fairly hot, but generally not that humid. Plan on 80s-low 90s. Winters are not that bad. You can be comfortable with jeans and a sweater. You might want a light jacket, but I only needed a heavy jacket once in the year I was there. That was late at night. Everything is easily accessible in Sydney. Anything you can buy at home, you can buy there, and at comparable prices, so don't worry if you don't stock up. Again, photo equipment -- both film and camera supplies -- are all over the city. Definitely bring swimwear. The beaches are well worth going to. Wear sunscreen!!!!!

A: "I would say you would need to buy 2 seperate tickets which you purchase onboard. For more info http://www.metrotransport.com.au/index.php/lightrail/home-2.html"
