Well presented and surprisingly quiet

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 3, 2012

My last stay at the Great Southern was my second stay there overall. This time I was staying for business so I needed a good nights sleep. During my previous stay I was upgrade so I was interested to see what a standard room would be like. I was very surprised considering the room was facing George Street.
I could not hear any of the traffic noice (hmm maybe an ambulance or two later in the night) and the the room had a balcony for those who want to get some fresh air.
Room was clean and modern with private bathroom facities (no bathroom but good shower) tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge.
Had dinner down in the restaurant, was nice. Good pub food!

Unique Quality: Beautiful art deco styling in the lobby/foyer with old atifacts on display

Directions: 5 minute walk from Central station and the Eddy Avenue Coach Terminal. Also 5 minute walk to China Town and the Capitol Theatre (great if your going to see a show)
