What is the best way to get to Wagga Wagga from Bathurst on a Thursday?
Re: transportation
by betska
Havn't done it myself but I guess that the most straight-forward route would be to follow the Great Western Highway to Cowra, and then follow the Olympic Way all the way to Wagga Wagga via Young & Cootamundra.
Re: transportation

.......assuming of course that you are driving.

hi - if you want to use public transport here is the link to the trains
it seems most trips you go to Lithgow, change to go to Sydney, then change to go to Wagga
i did see one trip direct from Bathurst to Sydney - but then there is a 7 hour or so wait for the train to Wagga so check your waiting times
I will go and look and see what the buses can do now
Re: transportation

I checked Greyhound buses and got no joy at all - seems they do nothing to get you from B to WW

Regional Express fly Bathurst to Wagga Wagga, but you have to do the trip via Sydney.
It's not cheaper either, at least $200 one-way.

If you have a driver's license, consider a one way rental for a day.
You can also check out rideshare section on the gumtree.com.au website in your respective city to see if you can get a ride off someone also going that route.

The Meaning of Wagga Wagga
by CandS
I've recently found a write up about the meaning of Wagga Wagga... It is a modification of a Wiradjuri (Aboriginal tribe) word "Waggan" (meaning a crow or Australian Raven). Repeating the word means a place remarkable for flocks of those birds.
It was named by the first European settlers who established a farm here and named their place "Wagga Wagga"...
Skate Park
by CandS
The Wagga Skate Park was opened in 2001... It is a cement park especially made for skate boarders, BMX bikes, roller blades etc. It is very well used by many kids in Wagga.
The Skate Park is free to use but must be shared with all using it... Make sure you take your own safety gear and whatever it is you want to 'ride'...
