Nan Tien temple
by Kate-Me
Nan Tien buddhist temple is just on the outskirts of Wollongong.
Unfortunately the grounds were closed for the day when we were there so we couldn't get a good look at it.
It's quite a sight as you first see it from the highway, which is why I've included it as something to see.

Packing List
by Dominique2k
If you are going down for the day and by car, all you need (especially in Summer) is some sort of light backpack, enough to put everyday stuff in...
In the summer you will need plenty of beach accessories. ie: suncream, towel, bottled water. And also, a lot of patience if you want to find a parking spot near the beach. Otherwise, you may find yourself doing a 10-15 minute walk to the beach (which isn't so bad, just be prepared for it...)
Minnamurra rainforest
by austarman
These falls are part of the Budderoo national park which are situated about a 30 to 40 minutes drive south of Wollongong close to the village of Jamberoo.
The Minnamurra rain forest has a 1.6km elevated Rainforest Loop Walk with a network of raised timber boardwalks that crosses over many creeks.
This first walk is an easy walk with disabled access and takes about an hour.
About half way around the Rainforest Loop Walk visitors have the option to walk to the Minnamurra Falls.
This track covers a distance of about 2.6 kms (return) and is much harder and steeper than the first one, but the view of the Minnamurra falls at the top is worth the climb.
If you do both walks you will need about 2 and a half hours.
They have picnic and BBQ areas as well as a food and souvenier shop.
Every Friday night is Chicken 'n' Chips Night!
by lindyz about Caesar's Chicken Shop
For as long as I can remember, and certainly for the whole time we have lived where we are now and that is 17 years, EVERY Friday night is "Chicken 'n' Chips" night. I guess its the end of the week thing, YAY its the weekend, I cant be bothered cooking!!!
Caesar's is only about a 5 minute drive from our house (lucky for us!) and they always deliver freshly chargrilled chickens with a variety of sides for a value price. We usually get either a Big Meal Deal which consists of one chicken, a large salad and a large chips for about $25. Or we will get a Family Deal which consists of one chicken, a large chips, a large gravy, 6 chicken nuggets and a large bottle of coke for about $25. Both these meals are enough to feed 4-5 people, also with enough chicken left over to be the base of another meal the following night. I certainly call that good value!!!
Some of the delictable foods on offer include:
* Chickens, whole, 1/2 or 1/4
* Roast pumpkin and potato
* Chicken schnitzels by itself or in a burger
* Country fried chicken pieces
* Roast beef or pork, by itself or in a roll
* Curried chicken, Butter Chicken, Beef Stroganoff or Lang Rogan Josh
* Fried Rice, Lasagne or Creamed Potatoes
* Hot chips and Potato wedges
* Salads including greek, potato, tabouli, italian chicken, seafood supreme, thai beef, tandoori chicken, thai noodle and garden salads.
* Fresh fruit salad and triple berry yoghurt
* Rice pudding and Chocolate Mousse
Caesar's also have a catering service, making your special function or celebration a success and less stress for you!
