Anchors Away Bareboat Charters. Airlie Beach.
The boat we went on "Blue Pearl" cost a considerable amount and was advertised as "state of the art". It was very disappointing as we had blocked toilets, broken tender motor, water leaks and multiple other problems. The owner appeared quite disinterested and made no allowance (he did offer us $50 each with a promise to not mention it again) despite several days of our holiday being spent hanging around his mooring waiting for repairs.
A truly beautiful area and welll worth the visit but don't go with Anchors Away...there have to be better companies and better maintained boats.
There really are none except that the Whitsunday area is wonderfull and definitely worth a visit.
Dirty, depressing, usless staff that give the wrong information, and nearly made us miss our ferry, they act like there doing us a favour by serving you at reception, rooms are old, bed linen dirty, did not even take our shoes off when we had a shower... dirty dirty dirty and no secruity at all...
The rooms are new but basic. Good price with comfortable facilities and an outlook to the beach.
Northern most stop for yachts travelling from the protected waters of the Whitsunday Islands
We hired a 40 foot catamaran and sailed around the Whitsunday Islands at our own pace. It was perfect and I would totally recommend it to anyone else. It probably wasn't the cheapest way to see the islands but definitely the best way!! :)
The freedom to sail yourself where ever you like (within limits though) and enjoy the beautiful Whitsundays...
