Once again I have just included this without actually staying here.
Most of the backpackers look similar and this one was also located right on the main street.
Unique Quality: They have a variety of accomodation to choose from....dorms, cabins and tent and campervan sites.
Dorm...$16 per night...[ min 2 nights ]
Cabins...$19 per night.
Twin doubles...$49 per room [ 2 people ]
Tent sites...$16 per site [ 2 people ]
Campervan sites...$19 per van [ 2 people ]

Not the greatest!!
Magnums is a big party place, so i guess that should tell you a little about it. The kitchen is ridiculous. There are 2 microwaves and toasters and 2 plug-in wok things. No hobs. So if two people are cooking, you will have to wait. We were wanting to cook pasta, and it was after 9pm when we finally got our go. I think they want you to buy their food!!!
We stayed on the campsite, which is actually a patch of grass. It was only $15 for 2 of us, so can't really complain, but it is all very squished. You will hear the music til it finishes and the generator from somewhere very close al the time... and at 6am every morning someone wakes you with his leaf blower. Oh... and there is one shower. Not exactly the best place to stay, but i don't think you could get much closer to the action if that's what you want!! If you're gonna be drunk, then i guess all of the above wouldn't matter!!
Unique Quality: The only common room was the outdoor bar. No TV room or cozy indoor area, so if it rains... good luck!!!

Backpackers Paradise
I found Magnums to be extremely friendly, safe and good atmosphere. The rooms are basic but clean, and banana trees outside your dorms help for a healthy breakfast.
Unique Quality: Excellent Bar with a good nightclub as well. There is a cybercafe and pool tables. One of the best things about Magnums is its location, just opposite is a lagoon and is central of the party scene.

Hostels in general
This is a tip in general. In the summer months, there is a problem at a lot of these hostels with bedbugs. Before you get here, and before you check in anywhere, just ask around and find out which hostels have these REALLY annoying things, and which dont.
