Take as little as possible for a comfortable trip... Swimmers are a must, as is a sarong/shorts/singlets, a hat and sunglasses for around the pool/beach. Also take some long clothes to keep the sun off yourself. A light jumper or jacket is also needed in winter at night sometimes. If you're exploring the islands, good shoes are worthwhile or 'aqua socks' if you're going into the water... Sunscreen is a must...take lots of it. You will get burnt very easily... Take a good camera and lots of film! Also an underwater camera is good for if you go snorkelling...the fish colours are amazing!!

Airlie Beach Lagoon

Opened in 2001, Airlie Beach Lagoon is a great place to cool off without the worry of stingers. It has landscaped gardens, free BBQ's, change & shower rooms, and a shaded wading pool for the kids.
Lifeguards patrol the area during the day, and there are security patrols nightly.

There is no charge to use the lagoon.

Whithaven Beach

Whitehaven is the main attraction of the Whitsundays.... and if you visit Airlie Beach and do no take a trip out to Whitehaven Beach, then you may as well do Sydney and not see the Opera House! :o)

Whitehaven Beach is amazing!! With it's crystal clear blue water and pure white sand.... Whitehaven is a world renouned destination.

Did you know that you can clean your jewlrey in the wet sand? ....Try it! ....Rings come up shiney new!! :o) ....but beware!!...do not drop your camera in the sand or it's goodbye camera!!

Airlie Beach

Ah, Airlie Beach. Gateway to the Whitsunday Islands, home to perhaps the most partying per person in all of Australia. It really is a fun place to stay for a few days before and after your sailing trip. Though, if you are not sailing, there isnt much of a reason to stay here longer than a few days.
