Good budget option
This place apparently used to be some kind of backpacker's place. It has since been given a re-furb but the 4-star rating it has been given may be a little misleading.
We booked last-minute thru wotif.com. Fully self-contained, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom, own laundry and balcony. Pull-out sofa bed in the lounge room makes this OK for up to 6 people. Pretty good value for A$135 per night.
Location was great - very quiet but very close to the main drag. Across the road and down a little from the Airlie Beach Hotel.
Do be aware however, this property is opposite the new Port of Airlie project. It may become much more noisey over the next year - will report back after the Airlie meet in Sept'09
I'd give it a 2-star rating. It was clean and all that we needed.
Unique Quality: None really. The management were very friendly and attentive, though.
