Musty, noisy, tired
It's advertised as "eco-friendly," and they certainly aren't doing anything to harm the lifeforms breeding in the tattered hall carpets. The musty smell was very noticeable, as were the ants in the bathroom. Also, our room (No. 7) was filled with 24-hour motor noise (possibly from the elevator or the kitchen cold room above). Noise insulation seems to be a bit of problem in this hotel, because street noise was also very noticeable. I thought the hotel was smoke-free, but apparently smoking is permitted on balconies. Fortunately no-one seemed to be smoking during our stay. The carpark is very tight for maneuvering in and out if your car is bigger than a mini. The restaurant has good service and some interesting dishes, though we couldn't find a table that didn't wobble. Also, they seemed to think that everyone likes to have a loud TV playing in the background while dining.
Unique Quality: 10-15 walk from Royal Brisbane Hospital. The restaurant is is quite good, especially the Thai dishes, and the surroundings are pleasant. Some rooms have good views. However, the hotel needs a major makeover.
