Perfect for overnight stay

We stayed in Brisbane overnight and this Ibis was the best we stayed in whilst travelling in Australia. It is very clean, spacious and has quite a business feel. it is easy walking distance from the train station and also walking distance into the town centre. Definitely recommended considering it was only GBP40 or so for the night.
Is what it is....

Stayed here with a gaggle of friends for a concert trip. This property was chosen for none other than price and location, not comfort.
Check in was slow and painful and although we had booked all 3 rooms in one booking and requested also that they be together they had us spread across 3 different floors and pointed out the struggle it would be to put them all on one floor, but they managed in the end. Although only one room on that floor was ready even though it was 2.30, we had to wait 1/2 hour for the other 2.
Rooms were what you expect at an Ibis simple, and not the cleanist, never a view, but for the price thats what you get.
Was only a 5 - 10 min walk to Bribane mall and a 5 min walk to Central train and Bus station.
This property served its purpose, it was a bed to sleep in when we got back late at night.
Great Value

We stayed here for 3 nights. The Ibis was perfect for us and the price was reasonable. After sightseeing during the day, it was a comfortable, clean place to crash. The room was large and nicely appointed with modern colors and clean-lined furnishings. A nice large desk for our computer and travel books. Close to the train station (which we appreciated) and only 5 to 10 minutes walk to the Queen Street Mall. The hotel offers an excellent buffet breakfast.
Not much of a view, but we were too busy running round seeing the sights to be worried about that. From the Ibis we picked up a tour to the Australia Zoo, and the MV Mirimar river boat cruise to the Lonely Pine Kola Sanctuary is a short walk across the Victoria Bridge from the Ibis.
This hotel offers great value and good location. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked this hotel based on reviews on this website (as we did with all our accomodation) and this was the only bad experience we had.
We arrived at 8.30pm and as we checked in were told that there would be a power cut from 9 - 10pm and another from 5 - 6am and that the lifts would be out of use from 9pm - 6am. We were then giving our room key on the 5th floor!! When we queried why we weren't informed of this we were told that they only contacted people in Australia!!! As we were checking in another guy came downstairs and advised he'd been waiting for someone to let him into his room for 20 mins and the girl on the reception laughed and said she'd forgotten!!
We were told there would be a torch in our room, there wasn't and when we requested one they advised us there weren't any available. The power in fact didn't come back on until 11pm and we were in darkness until then.
We had to use the fire escape to get to our room that evening which was in darkness and on the way up came across a guy with a heart condition who was on the 7th floor.
The room itself was not properly cleaned - empty sachets in the bathroom and hair in the bin and we only had a bath towel each no hand towels etc.
Overall not a good experience and when we tried to raise it with the staff they weren't interested.
Towel had hair in it!

Overall, ok. However, I will not go back there again. The carpet in the room was dirty, that I can overlook. But when I get a bath towel that had 2 strands of hair in it, I was not impressed. The towels were rough and some had holes in them, but nothing is worse than someone else's hair in it!
not great at all

The Ibis was annoying from the start, not only was it a pain to drive into but there was no parking!! parking was at an extra cost and was incredibly small. The parking was actually over booked and we had to sit int he car and wait until the guy told us to park it in the most impossible space. Ridiculous. Not only this but the Ibis had no elevator and had to work up the stairs to our floor.....i thought amongst having to pay for parking in a whole different place was a joke.

we stayed here 4 days on our honeymoon. The hotel was in walking distance to the main shopping area and Grand central station, from where you can get a train to the Sunshine and Gold coasts - Steve Irwins Zoo and Surfers Paradise.
The hotel itself was fairly clean, the only downfall was that a big school group was staying there at the same time and there were fairly noisy at night. The laundry room was very handy.
The Belgian Beer Cafe Brussels on the corner of Edward and Mary Streets is fantastic for a beer or too! We loved Cafe East in the middle of the pedestrianised shopping road - we had Morten Bay Bugs and Prawns - fantastic!
We also loved Cold Rock Ice Creamery on the South Bank - you can make
your own ice cream by choosing different flavours and then adding bits to it.
Eagle Street Pier has nice restaurants but quite expensive and mostly
you need to book a table or you wait anything over an hour.
