Fabulous surroundings.......
I haven't stayed at Il Mondo myself but my sister has and so has one of my friends and they both loved it especially for the price. The rooms have all the ammenities including, air-con. and facilities include, in-house laundry, hair dryer iron cable TV etc etc. the list goes on. This is great value by Brisbane standards.
Unique Quality: The really fabulous thing about Il Mondo is its location. It is situated at Kangaroo Poin across the river from the city in a lovely cosmopolitan area. It sports its own Italian restaurant (Loueys) and is also right next door to Butter Bistro which is fast becoming one of the most popular restaurants in Brisbane. The famous Story Bridge Hotel is across the street and here you can enjoy an informal meal or snack, great Sunday breakfast or if you want to lash out a little you can try their flagship restaurant - Deery's where you are assured of a fabulous steak, ggod wine and all the trimmings. The City Ferry is close by to take you to the city centre and you can walk to South Bank Parklands or to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs.

My friend recommended I stay here. The best way I can describe this hotel and its decorations in one word is "interesting". It is a small hotel located in the shadow of the Story Bridge at Kangaroo point, across the river from the heart of the city. The ferry is within walking distance.
Unique Quality: The rooms were very modern and had some strange decorations, but were comfortable. The hotel is very safe and clean. There is also a pool and a restaurant/bar. I got my room for AU$70 a night, but rates have changed since then and are on the website. You should be able to get a standard room for $95 now. The only drawback is the location, but it is still not too far from all the action.
