Brisbane International Airport...

by Krystynn

Brisbane International Airport is situated about 13KM from the Central Business District. Most international flights will land here. And yes, even if you're heading to the Gold Coast, your international flight will land at this airport.

If you're looking for public transport to and from the Brisbane Airport, you may wish to hop onto the Airtrain, a somewhat new train service providing a direct link from the Brisbane CBD to the airport.

Photo Below: Yes, it's true. For some of us, we visit Australia just so that we can play with the animals.

Brisbane International Airport (BNE)

by ATXtraveler

As there are many airports throughout Queensland, I thought I would emphasize the only International Airport within this state. Direct flights from the US, NZ, and Southeast Asia find their way to Brisbane or as it is affectionately known, Bris-Vegas.

The airport does not seem very large, and was easy to negotiate, although we were disappointed at how small their carry-on luggage limits were. Only 7kgs is rather small for carry-on, and we needed to check our bags which caused us delays.

All in all, there was a good food selection in the airport, and the rental car was easy to get to.

Brisbane International Airport is located at The Circuit just outside the city limit. It is the third busiest airport in Australia after Sydney and Melbourne international airports. It has two passenger terminals, i.e. international terminal and domestic terminal. It handles approximately 15 millions passengers annually. You may e-mail to the following address for further information regarding the departure and arrival schedules;- info@bne.com.au

Getting There and Getting Around

by keeweechic

By Air : Brisbane International Airport is at Eagle Farm, 13kms from the city centre. The Domestic Terminal is 17 kms from the city. A frequent coach service (SkyTrans) runs between the airport terminals, city hotels and Transit Centre.

By Rail : The Great South Pacific Express runs from Sydney and Cairns to Brisbane.

By Train : The Citytrain network covers Brisbane and South East Queensland providing a reliable and first-class passenger rail service.

By Boat : The Brisbane river meanders through the city and a pleasant way of seeing the city is by one of the many ferries that link the city to South Bank and the Dockside and Kangaroo Point.

By Taxi : Taxis services are plentiful in Brisbane, operating on a 24-hour basis with metered fares. Tipping is not expected.

BRISBANE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

by balhannah

Brisbane Airport, have you wondered how far it is from Brisbane? Yes?
Answer ...15kms [20mins] or from the Gold Coast, about 85kms or 45mins,

Sunshine coast is about 1hour, depending from where you are coming from. If from Noosa, allow approx 2hours.

Want to use the Internet whilst waiting,
No problem,Internet Kiosks are located on levels 2 and 3 of the International Terminal.

Baggage a problem?
There are now lockers available in all sizes at the International Terminal (ground floor at the entrance to the public carpark), a much needed addition.....
Here are the prices for 4hours.... Initial Fee Second Hire Period (4 hours) Additonal Fee Third Hire Period (16 hours) Total (24 hour period)

Small
$AUD 4.00 $AUD 2.00 $AUD 2.00 $AUD 8.00

Medium
$AUD 6.00 $AUD 2.00 $AUD 2.00 $AUD 10.00

Large
$AUD 8.00 $AUD 2.00 $AUD 2.00 $AUD 12.00

From oversea's and can't find you way around?
No need to worry, here we have Volunteer's who just love helping visitor's to Brisbane. Don't be afraid to go and ask for help!

In Transit?
I can vouch for the lovely, comfortable departures lounge, I just sink into them and relax, I am sure you will too! Don't feel like a sleep, well, the local television is on and there are desks for writing up your diary!

If you are here for a longer time, then there is a
FREE A NO 1 COURTESY BUS to the DFO SHOPPING CENTRE
which is a Direct Factory Outlet with a wide range of retail stores and eateries. It departs regularly from the International Terminal on Level 4 and the Airport Village bus stop, just a short 10min drive.

Hungry?
Plenty of options for food, most of them are on Level's 3&4, but one on Level 2.

Shopping
A good choice of duty free shopping

Money Exchange
Travelex for all types of money exchange, and they also have an ATM located on each level for Australian and foreign cash withdrawals.

Need a Car?
Hire car companies are located on Level 2.

If somebody is coming to pick you up, then tell them to come later than your arrival time, as the Airport car parking is very expensive.
I find it better for me to wait an extra 10mins outside at the pick-up and drop-off area, rather than them arriving early and paying a large fee.
Remember, Attendants will ask your friend or who ever is picking you up to move on if you are not there. It is just that, pick up....drop off!

Transport from Brisbane International Airport to Mooloolaba Wharf

by Jackso

Actually, our family are from Hong Kong and will visit Mooloolaba few days later. I know the sun-air bus have the schedule buses services from Brisbane International Airport to Mooloolaba accomodation. Do I need to pre-book the bus services? or can I just book the bus services when we arrive the Brisbane Airport?

Thank for your advice!

by Couplesynergy

Hi Jackso,

You can grab the Sunbus driver at the airport and pay there but I would book it in advance. It's not cheap travelling that way probably $30 to $35 dollars per person. You might consider hiring a car from the Airport for a half day (depending on how many in your family) for around $50 and drive up to Mooloolaba. Mooloolaba is about 1.15 hours from Brisbane Airport and you could return the car to the Sunshine Coast airport and take a cab back to Mooloolaba. Just a thought.

Another option is to get Sunbus to drop you at the Ethmonough Hotel (Aussie World) which is $25 from Brisbane Airport and get a cab from there to you hotel.

Have fun

Getting from Brisbane International Airport to Brisbane CBD at 1.00 am for 2 adults 3 kids

by stourist

What would be the best option for getting from Brisbane International Airport to Brisbane CBD hotel for 2 adults and 3 kids and assorted luggages, at 1.00 am in the morning?

Coachtrans only starts at 4 am and I don't fancy sitting around at the airport waiting.

Just go to the taxi rank outside the exit and ask a driver to call you a MaxiTaxi.

With 5 people and luggage paying pp for cheaper transport would not save you a lot so go with the maxi cab idea as suggested or have a private pick up arranged. We had to do similar in Europe and it was worth it

Does your hotel have provision for early hours check in?
