Suggestions for Hotels / Apartments for 2 Weeks in Brisbane

Will be staying in Brisbane for 2 weeks this May. Would appreciate suggestions for hotels, apartments, B&B, etc. Any feedback on Q Resort properties? Are the Willahara Towers apartments nice? Suggestions for Aussie websites (besides wotif.com) to find good deals?

a website I like is tripadvisor, type brisbane in the top box and once you are in and click on a certain hotel or whatever, there will be a choice of 4 agencies, Venere, ratestogo, expedia and something else, who will offer their price for this hotel. This website also has guests comments so you can read what other people thought of a place.

You don't say how much you are willing to spend or how big/small the aprtment needs to be. How many people etc? The Willahra apartments ae very well situated in the City Centre but I would think they would be quite expensive. Best areas to stay for access to most of the attractions in Brisbane are, Kangaroo Point, City Centre, Spring Hill, New Farm, & South Brisbane.

stayz.com.au usually has some interesting cheap accommodation options. whereis.com.au is very helpful in giving a location map.
Also try lastminute.com.au & wotif.com
We stayed at the Chifley at Lennons right in the heart of Brissy...great location....and if you can get a deal, so much the better.

Hey, There is a nice apartment house in inner brisbane,
near furtitude valley and 10 min walking from the city center.
i've enjoyed there a lot.

Here's what I recommend when anywhere near the Brisbane area, Cairns, Townsville, etc. Other than Magnetic Island, which I highly try to set up a farmstay out in the outback West of Townsville and Charters Towers. A great idea is to go from Magnetic Island to Townsville, then from there to Charters Towers, from there toa farmstay at a place called Gainsford Station, roughly 1 hour west of Charters Towers. It was in the middle of no where!! It was really fun, and I got to sleep out under the vast blanket of stars.

THIS IS TAJ, A WHITE TIGER WITH BLUE EYES AT DREAMWORLD, FROM THE 'MEET THE TIGERS' SHOW. SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE ALL VERY WELL TREATED. SHE MUNCHED ON ICE CUBES, AND HER FRIEND, A COUGAR I THINK, PURRED INTO THE MICROPHONE! A couple of years ago when I was here, they lead the Dreamworld white tigers around Dreamworld and I got to stroke one! It has been a bit of a fantasy of mine to ride a tiger and to stroke this beautiful rare white tiger with blue eyes who was so soft and tame, fur like horse's mane a bit, was lovely!! Had to force myself to step back after a few moments and let the kids there have a go!
Sun and the heat factor!

It can't be reinforced enough that Brissy gets really hot for at least 4 months of the year, and most of the rest of the year is warm as well. Don't every forget to bring plenty of casual and cool clothing to Queensland, as you'll even enjoy shorts in the middle of the day in winter. Hats and sunglasses are also essentials. Thongs are also a cultural must! Sunscreen of the highest SPF is highly recommended between hours of 10am and 2.00pm on summer days.
Woodford Folk Festival

Clontarf

Speaking of fish and chips.....we had a very yummy meal from the fish & chip shop across from the beach at Clontarf. It only cost $22 for 4 pieces of crumbed Flake (Shark), chips and a tub of gravey. Here's the view of Clontarf beach.
