And again
Thanks for everyone's responses to my previous question-
The reason I picked Brisbane is I wanted to live somewhere that is warm all year round-Melbourne and Sydney seemed to get a bit chilly in the winter plus there are extra fees to enroll your children in Sydney-
So as far as living and going on holiday in Australia-where is the "Best" weather? I live in Oregon where we have snow all winter-really sick of it...
Thanks again,Darla
Brisbane is a good choice weatherwise. Sub-tropical, warmer winters than the southern cities but not far enough north to get cyclones and a rainy, as in monsoon, season.
(Sydney does get cold in winter but not cold enough to have snow).
Yeah I agree with the above - Brisbane's weather is great. A bit too hot/humid in the summer for my liking, but if you want warm...Brisbane's got it all year.
And I think Sydney's winter is the best time of the year! Today's winter day will get almost up to 70 degrees farenheit, yet the Aussie sun makes it seem even hotter, and then it gets a little cool at night - perfect day!
Happy travels
Hi, If you want to be warm, try Pert, Western Australia, on the Indian Ocean

Mate, currently mid-winter in Brisbane, time is 11:12pm, and the temp at a comfy 17 degree celsius (inside without any heating).
Brisbane has beautiful weather and late autumn is absolutely stunning, with clear, crisp skies and lots of sunshine. January and February are usually very, very hot, although the last two years have not been too bad (perhaps just getting used to it!)
Of course I am still going to push for the mid parts of the Eastern Coast anywhere from Port Macquarie and North to the Gold Coast. Where I live seems to me to be the best weather, but I am not keen on the humidity in summer. Right now as we head into winter we have the freshness in the morning and evening that changes to sleeveless gear in the middle of the day. Perfect.
Do let's know where you decide to settle.
Carole.

If your in Brisbane when the ekka is on, you might want to consider going.
there's heaps of stuff to see and do, and its a good excuse to let your hair down, get high on sugar lollies and go crazy!
I have been going to the ekka since i was 3
every ekka wednesday without fail.
the tradition for many brisbane people is almost as importantas christmas.
In 2001 around 680 000 visitors flocked to the RNA Showgrounds during the 10 days of the Show
The commercial aspect of the Show consists of around 60 sideshow attractions as well as food, beverages and other products and services (including an array of over 300 show bags) amounting to 500 exhibitors in total.
For the weak in upper body strength like me, it was quite a struggle to get to the top of even the easiest climb. I didn't, or couldn't, feel any satisfication at the top, since I was too tired. I can say I have rock climbed before, however, and that's probably the best compensation for my bum knee and scratched hand.
If you are visiting Brissy with kids, then Bribie Island is a great place for a day trip. It's easy to get there along the Bruce Highway, turn off is near Caboulture. There's free bbq's, great swings and trees to climb for the kids. Also the kids love to play with the little baby crabs. But beware of the slimy mud when you venture out for a dip......totally gross squishing through your feet......yuk!! :o)
The Woolshed is a great place to go if you're interested in animals, and other aspects of Australian nature. The woolshed's ram show involves a live display of eight breeds of sheep, who make their way to the assigned position on the stage as the announcer explains what each breed is used for. There is also a demonstration of sheep shearing, a recreation of an outback sheep station, and a visit to an animal park with native Australian animals. The woolshed also has a cafe and dining hall, where you can sample some traditional Aussie food.
The woolshed is located at:
