Quiet and Off the Beaten Path

After leaving the bustling city of Sydney, where we had stayed at a 5 star hotel (due to crowded circumstances...), this was definitely a change. No longer were there two doormen jumping forward to open the doors, and no one whisking our suitcases away. However, the atmosphere was very fitting for the new area we'd hit upon -- much more a tropical isle type area, and the lobby put you right into that feel. It is an open air lobby, leading to the bar/restaurant and pool area, along with the open stairway -- no elevator. I bring this up as you may not be as lucky as my daughter. We were on the second floor, and as we started for the stairs, the desk clerk came rushing around to take her suitcase up for her; he turned around to ask me -- the old lady! -- if I needed any help; without waiting for a reply, he just kept going. I am sure if she hadn't been there, there would have been no help up the stairs (just a warning for your packing...)
Anyway, the surroundings were very beautifully done, did make me think I was back on a tropical island. There is a decent looking outdoor pool, but we were too busy to ever try it out.
The room itself is fair enough; very comfortable beds with plenty of room to spread out suitcases, desk, coffee pot (to heat water with instant coffee and tea bags). Air conditioning worked very well, which was necessary while we were there. Nice walkways all around the hotel with tables and chairs, so you could sit and enjoy the surroundings.
We had continental breakfast included with our deal, so do not know how much extra that would be for others, but do know it is $8 additional to have the full breakfast. However, the continental is plenty, very good. Lots of choices of breads, muffins, pastries, fruits, cereals, juices, coffee, tea. More than enough.
Location is about 10 minute walk to the center of town/beach area. It is a very pleasant and quiet walk. I would stay here again.
Quite a few restaurants/bars and fast food places right around the corner. Also a convenience store right across the street for quick things.
