This is a great hotel right in the city centre. It is literally a 5 minute walk from the esplanade, all the major night clubs and pubs, all the good resteraunts and the must see night markets. Compared to everywhere else in the city it is one of the best locations and one of the cheapest prices. Depending on what time of year they also have deals with PJ'Obriens irish bar downstairs on room and meal deals. Its not flash 5star accomodation but if your travelling its very good quality for the $$.

Location is great, within easy walking distance of the esplanade, the Night Market, numerous eateries etc etc. But except for the friendly reception ( esp Russel ) housekeeping is poor. They dont clean the bathroom nor clean the rooms. You have to request for clean towels and there were instances inadequate number of towels were provided in the room. For a short stay it's ok otherwise go elsewhere especially when you are done with the Reef tour.

This hotel was very convenient, located in the the city center. A quiet room for the night was A$90 (US$68) and is located in the center of the building (you should request the center if you want quiet). The hotel also offers rooms for A$70 (US$52) per night which have 2 twin beds. I was really tire the three nights that I stayed in this room, so I was able to sleep through the extremely loud noise coming from the bar (P.J. O'Briens) downstairs. There are share rooms on upper floors that are not directly over the bar which you should requst.
Nice and helpful staff, reasonably priced internet access which is open 24 hrs. Good location. Free light breakfast (which is just toast, juice and coffee). Nice, large veranda which looked over city center.
