a poor 5 star experience

We booked and paid in advance online a week earlier than arrival. My wife and I had booked for us and our 2 boys (8 & 12).

Upon arrival we were told that there was a problem with our room, there was an 'electrical smell' coming from the dishwasher (fixed a few days later). The facilities were for guests only, after we told them that we were in Trinity beach to catch up with family.

We had to carry our own bags to our room. We found the management unfriendly.

Very disappointing stay.

Unique Quality: Clean and very well appointed apartments.

A Luxury home away from home

We stayed for one week in a 2 bedroom apartment. All the apartments face the ocean and are beautifully maintained. The full size kitchen feature everything you could possibly need right down to fresh local coffee for the plunger!

The bed was huge and comfortable, there was a huge spa bath and walkin wardrobe... we wanted to move in and never go home :-)

Unique Quality: The pool area was beautiful. It is very clean with a bbq and undercover spa area for when its raining but still steamy. Beautiful gardens and managers who keep the place sparkling. There are 3 bedroom apartments with huge private courtyards. Ground floor apartments have direct access to the pool area from their balconies.

More about Sea Change Beachfront Apartments

Absolutely fantastic venue, beach front, close to restaurants close to Cairns

by TripAdvisor Member BigCarty

As part of our first ever trip to Australia where we took in Tangalooma, Morton Island, Brisbane, Sydney and Cairns, I, my wife and two sons stayed at the apartments for the second week in August. My sons ( aged 8 and 14), loved the pool and the easy access to the beach and the surf. The accommodation was luxurious and the staff and management ever friendly. The environment was relaxing, with fantastic views of sunrise over the beach and ocean. Set in an idilic, quiet location, the venue also offeres easy access to the more commercial Cairns. Looking forward to our next visit!

Paradise By the Beach

We have just returned to Western Australia after 11 day's at the beautiful Seachange Beachfront Apartment's located at Trinity Beach about 20 km's north of Cairn's, Queensland. It would have to have been the most amazing place we have stayed at with beautiful apartments, well equiped with a great kitchen with all that you would need, fantastic out door area's for your own use and entertaining. Our apartment was right on the front ground floor with access straight into the pool, although we had no children with us it is a safe and secure area if you travel with a young family. Should you prefer the beach this is located directly opposite. The apartment had two bedroom's, one with an ensuite complete with spa bath, the other standard bathroom with shower and vanity. Washing machine and dryer are very handy. The price for a night was $260 per night, With two couples you would be able to share the cost. A fantastic restuarant a minutes walk, with other great eateries close by. Plenty to see and do. A huge variety of tours, the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, Sky Rail and Train up to the mountain's plus many more, and the great people who run Seachange will take care of everything for you, all you need to do is grab your gear for the day and you are of.
I would certainly say it was the best holiday, from the accomodation to the location and all in between, and I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone Seachange Beachfront Appartment's for one fantastic time.

Fine accomodation

by TripAdvisor Member anemonefish

We found Sea Change to be well-appointed, well-maintained, and guest-friendly. Highly recommended to adults and well-behaved children, being across from narrow Trinity Beach (with a stinger net) and with a decent pool area. Our apartment was large and airy with a fully-equipped kitchen (right down to rice cooker and juicer). The complex is one of a string of holiday lodgings in a beachfront strip between two hills. It has poolside units with patios, large second floor units with expansive outdoor seating areas and grills, and third floor units with excellent views across the palms. There is a convenience store close by and a few restaurants. A car would be advisable for anyone planning to "do the town," however. We visited Port Douglas, Cairns, and a couple of other areas and were glad we'd chosen the tranquility of Trinity Beach as a base of operations; others might find it a bit low-key if they're after entertainment. The tours suggested by Simon (mgr.) turned out to be excellent choices - we were glad we took his advice since we had only a few days to explore. One caution: although the apartments are non-smoking, smoking is permitted in outdoor areas like decks and patios, so it's possible to smell cigarettes if the neighbors are puffing and the winds are calm. Queensland has much going for it, but needs to recognize that "smokers' rights" do not extend to assaulting the lungs of bystanders in public and semi-public spaces. All-in-all a thoroughly pleasant experience at Sea Change Apartments and appreciation for management which cares about preserving a sense of hospitable, casual elegance.

Beautiful One Day Perfect the next !

Thanks Simon !
I booked Seachange Apartments several months ago and we arrived this month to exactly what was promised to us a beautiful apartment with everything we needed and wanted.
We were actually upgraded to a two bedroom with easy access to the beach and onto the pool.
Very private which is what we wanted and very serene and quiet.
If you want a holiday with your children then go to the Gold Coast Nara Seaworld or similar!
(although we had a lovely family with three small very well behaved children staying at the same time who were a pleasure to have at the pool with us) thanks to their very thoughtfull parents.
Simon you made our stay a pleasure and thanks for all your help
re our trip to the reef .
Seachange Apartments are the place to stay where you want ambiance, peace and quiet (sit on your patio or balcony with a good glass of red or two and your cheese platter and take in the scenary) not have screaming children running around the pool.
So if your after a very beautiful, clean, modern aprtment with fantastic views have a look at the website because what you see is what you get.
If you want somewhere to let your kids run wild around the pool area then go somewhere else.
We also can't recommend more highly Simons vast knowledge of the area and his expert help, Cruising car rentals were fantastic even to the extent of allowing us to keep our car a couple of hours longer(no charge) because our flight out was late and then dropping us at the airport. Shopforme was also recommended by Simon and they had supplies waiting for us in our appartment when we arrived all put away and in the fridge!
So in conclusion we would not hesitate in recommending Seachange Apartments to anyone contenplating a trip to North Queensland.

5 Stars for Parents and the Kids!

My Wife, 2 daughters under 4 and I have just returned home from 12 fantastic nights at Trinity Beach on Queensland's far north Australian coastline. We make a point of having one quality annual holiday as a family every year and again chose Trinity Beach as the destination this year. We based that decision on it being predictably warm, plenty of sand and safe swimming to amuse the kids, close proximity to a major centre (Cairns) for shopping and other facilities (Great Barrier Reef tours etc) and it retains that beachside village feel which has long been "developed out" of other popular spots.
Sea Change Beachfront Apartments, on the Trinity Beach foreshore, has proven to be the perfect location to not only base our holiday but immerse ourselves in the lifestyle. So comfortable are the surroundings like the pool, BBQ area and terrific beach-front that we found ourselves making very good use of the apartment and facilities. In fact, there were days when we strolled out of the apartments only to pick up a morning paper and return. The newly updated apartment we stayed in was large and so well appointed it was completely liveable for a lengthy period. It also helps having the 2nd or 3rd bedrooms located far from the living and outdoor areas - as those with small children know!
Finally, my eldest fondly named Sea Change "Simon's Place" because Simon, the onsite manager and resident "nice guy", sets the tone for a relaxing stay and willingly provides honest advice and pre-bookings if required for any activities and local attractions we wanted to experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend Sea Change at Trinity Beach for those wanting a superbly relaxing 5 star holiday, with our without kids. We are already looking forward to our return visit next year!

Fixed Smiles

My family (wife and two daughters) stayed at the Sea Change during the beginning of October 2006. It was a fantastic experience. I’d not travelled to Australia before and so I’d sought advice from friends and also researched on the internet about recommended accommodation and best locations. During the holiday at Sea Change I was pleased to realise that for once I had made the best choice possible.

The apartments are total luxury, not just because of the décor, spa, pool and huge decking area with gas BBQ but also because of all the detail such as espresso maker, silent running air conditioning, liquidizer & juicer, etc. The beach just across the road was perfect, we could sunbathe, paddle or jump in the crashing waves. It wasn’t too busy or too quiet. The great thing I will always remember about our stay in Sea Change was the broad smiles that my two daughters had fixed permanently across their faces.

The manager is very helpful and it is definitely worth listening to his advice about car hire, excursions and day trips.

Australia is a long journey from the UK and so our holiday was planned to take us to three other destinations. But we all agreed that we would make the journey again just to stay at Sea Change.

Very comfortable apartments

by TripAdvisor Member Ruskieray

Very comfortable apartments located at the far end of Trinity Beach, in fact couldn’t be closer to the beach other than actually being on it.
My apartment was very well equipped. The apartment and public areas were very clean and well maintained and the attention to detail was impressive: even including fresh cut flowers in the poolside public toilet! The pool wasn’t very large and traversed some ground floor apartment patios, and although it never got overcrowded when I was there I could imagine it getting so.
The internet connection in the apartment was effortless to connect with and didn’t involve a call to the local technical desk, which made a pleasant change. Do note that you can choose a 24 hour, 3 day or 5 day connection period. As I was staying for 5 nights I chose the 5 day connection fee. It wasn’t until after I signed up that I realised that my 5 day connection was on a timed basis. Every time I logged off or closed down my computer my usage time stopped. If you don’t plan to have your laptop on 24 hours a day then you won’t need such a long connection period. With my laptop connected 3 hours a day I had only used 15 hours of my 5 day connectivity time available by the time I checked out.

If you seek a quiet break in tranquil surroundings and in comfortable self catering apartments then Sea Changes would be a good choice. I would suggest liasing with the management first about the type of apartment available to you. I was given a 3 bedroom apartment with a massive terrace, probably a bigger surface area than the apartment itself, but without a sea view unless I walked to the end of the terrace. As I was travelling on my own such a huge space was unnecessary and remained unused throughout my stay and on reflection I would have preferred a smaller terrace with a better sea view.

A couple of things you must do: get a hire car, and visit the ‘Atlantis’ restaurant next door to the apartments. It is a ‘bring your own’ restaurant located in a marquee, which had originally put me off, but I was persuaded to dine there and I’m so glad I did as the food was simply sensational. During my visit to Australia I dined at some top rated restaurants including Guillaume’s at the Sydney Opera House but Atlantis at Trinity Beach was to my palate the best food this trip by far.

Probably the best apartments we have ever used, superb furniture and fittings, enormous well-equipped terrace, kitchen with enough equipment to cook a 5-course meal, located just acros the road from the beach. Excellent help and advice from Simon the manager, nothing too much trouble. Just cannot be faulted for quality, price or location.
