Ferntree Rainforest Lodge
Camelot Close, Cape Tribulation, Cape Tribulation,
Surrounded by rainforest
I went up to Cape tribulation on my own to get away from Sydney for a few days. It was so beautiful but I got there during the wrong season so be aware before going (stingers, rain etc)
The Ferntree rainforest Lodge is an ideal place, when visiting the Daintree rainforest due to its location right in the forest.
It is an eco-resort and you are very close to the nature. The cottages are enclosed by greenery and beautiful garden with tropical birds and butterflies (spiders and toads...massive ones!) The hotel is a good three star average hotel, but if you are there during low season you might find yourself very far from everything and everybody. The restaurant offers very nice breakfast and if you want to have dinner there remember to tell them or it will be closed.
The accomodation is very nice! Its a place you look forward to coming back to and the pools are refreshing. The self-cook kitchen and the shared facilities are not that impressive, but if your not a backpacker you can stay clear of this and just use the Cassowary cafe or get drinks at the Daintree Bar.
Unique Quality: When staying at the Lodge you will find yourself located between two world heritage areas: The Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Also you can stroll through the famous mangrove boardwalks, hiking, horse riding, bird watching etc.
A very romantic place to be and dont forget to bring your own redwine...cause the local store can not be recommend.
Directions: Close to Myall beach and Dubuji Boardwalk
To get there book a ticket through a bus company. They will pick you up at the airport in Cains and drive you all the way..good 3 hours.
