    During my Dunk Island stay I slept in a Banfield Room located in a tropical garden. These block of rooms are a short stroll away from the central complex, resort facilities and beach.

    Rooms are comfortable and spacious and contain a separate ensuite with shower. Room contains a fully stocked mini-bar.

    More luxurious rooms are also offer as:

    Bayview Suites situated beachside the rooms offer virtually uninterrupted views over Brammo Bay with direct access to the beach.

    Beachfront Rooms situated beachside with easy access to the beach through a tropical garden, you can enjoy filtered views over Brammo Bay from most rooms.

    Garden Cabanas set amongst tropical gardens and arranged in groups of four, they are a short stroll away from the central complex, resort facilities and beach.


    In fact as I was working as conservation volunteer in cooperation with the local Marine Park Rangers to eliminate none native plants on the Island. I was staying almost for free on this resort as I paid around AU$ 20 per day for full board ;-)

    It is a luxury resort. And that's what our stay was: just luxurious. But the best thing about the Resort has nothing to do with the Resort itself: it's the landscape. Dunk Island is a tropical Island surrounded by beautiful beaches. All the buildings of the resort are in the middle of a rainforest. Even if there is an entire resort just at the beach, when you arrive by boat, at first you don't see the buildings. It's really well hidden in the nature - but still, from your balcony you have a view that is just breathtaking.
    Despite all the luxury and the above average prices, the staff is still typically australian: very down to earth, friendly and uncomplicated. So we did never feel like in a world we didn't belong to.

    The view from seafront rooms is just unforgettable. The island is small enough to get almost everywhere on foot. And that's how you can also enjoy the unforgettable nature of Queensland.
    In the Resort there are several pools, some of them just for hotelguests, others also for day-travellers. There is a wide range of Sports activities (not only watersports, but also tennis, golf or horse riding). Since on the island there is pretty much nothing else than the resort, as a day traveller for Dunk Island you eather need to take everything with you or otherwise you just have to pay the luxury-prices. Plus: not everything is as expensive. We even got a huge milkshake for just 5$.
