Watermark Hotel Gold Coast located at Surfers Paradise Blvd to Central Park Plaza -Billabong Factory
by F&EinTaipei
Hi All,
any idea how can I get to Central Park Plaza (area of factory outlets shops including no less than 3 huge Billabong shops, and other famous brands such as Timberland, Cult and many more) from Watermark Hotel Gold Coast located at Surfers Paradise Blvd?
Thanks

I believe Central Park Plaza is situated in Ashmore, just west of Southport. You could muck around getting public transport (buses) but it's not that far away from Surfers Paradise, I would suggest getting a taxi.
Another good shopping area with factory outlets is "Harbourtown" about 10 minutes north of Ashmore.

I agree, taxi is the way to go to Central Park PLaza, but buses to Harbour Town from Surfers will be a bit easier with a direct route.
Harbour Town is a great outlet shopping centre.
Check out "grantravel"'s Gold Coast shopping hints for great info.

If you decide to go to Harbour Town(which I recommend you do)travelling by bus is very easy.
There is a bus stop about 50 mtres south from the Watermark on the main road.
There are 2 buses that go to Harbour Town.Route 703 terminates at Harbour Town & runs around every 30 mins & will cost you about $5 return also route 709 to Helensvale Rail goes via Harbour Town.

In summer, sunrise is as early as 4 in the morning. Being an avid photographer, I love taking photos of the sun as it creeps up the horizon.
If you love taking photos of sunrise and the beach, you absolutely must get up and taken some wonderful photos of the Gold Coast sunrise. Seeing the sun creeping up the horizon!! Beautiful lah!!
Surf beaches

1. Coolangatta (Snapper Rocks to Kirra has become one of the longest surf breaks in the world)
2. Burleigh heads
3. Duranbah
4. Any Other Gold Coast/ Sunshine Coast beach depending on prevailing conditions, check the local surf reports on the TV or internet
5. Byron Bay
6. Surf beaches in Australia extend from near Fraser Island all the way south to Sydney and beyond.
Remember that conditions change daily so be flexible and ask others or check the surf reports. Plenty of local surf hire shops

There are too many to mention, there is a party for every occasion, the alternative music pubs, irish pubs, Clubs.
My fav must be Cocktails and Dreams and that because of the awesome 70's retro disco night they had every tuesday, come dressed and party.
The quality isn't more than in other places, it is just the atmosphere that is great, everybody is just having fun on the tuesday nights, flares for funksters.
Delicious Meals..
by Sweetberry1 about Several Resturants
I couldn't name a favorite resturant, as I can't remember all the names, but we dined in a few different places, including one where our friend was the chef.
The service was great in all of them, and they each had an atmosphere all it's own. We had a large variety of food while we were there, but I guess if I had to choose just one, it would be the Rib eye Steak. And the T-Bone... Done to perfection :)
The seafood was also very good.
Seaworld..
by Sweetberry1
Seaworld is definitely worth a visit if you are in the Gold Coast area. And to appreciate it fully, you will need to spend most of the day here. This place is full of interesting things to do and see, all kinds of marine life, great resturants and bars, dare-devil stunts, a fun day for all ages..
