Blue Skies and Tanned skins
by jarrah21
I would head South close to the NSW border and go snorkelling near D bar!!!! Alternatively head out to the rainforest or valleys....Currumbin rock pools!!!!! When I am away from the Coast I miss the ease of getting to things and the people that are always friendly. I also miss the climate and the beach!!!!!
Sunburn
by keeweechic
The Australian sun is fierce, skin protection is simple - wear a broad-brimmed hat, a shirt with collar and sleeves, and SPF 15+ water-resistant sunscreen on exposed skin. Try to avoid the sun during the middle of the day when ultra-violet rays are strongest.

Whether bushwalking or hiking...

Whether bushwalking or hiking through the Gold Coast Hinterland or just admiring one of the many bird species found in the area, the trip to Springbrook, Binna Burra or Mt.Tamborine won't be a disappointment. Hand feed the colourful Rosellas and King Parrots found in abundance on these mountains or go for a dip in a clear cool mountain stream it's really your choice.

Great place to shop and people watch
by pamychan
Nothing beats a shopping area by the beach where u can shop, eat, drink and walk in the sand with sea breeze in ur hair all in the same place. On certain days of the week, there's also a open air market along the beach where small stalls are set up selling handmade gifts, organic produce etc... (something like the night markets in Hong Kong except much cleaner, organised and less crowded)
