Information about Bond University/visiting area
by terisi29
My son is planning to apply to Bond University. Our family would like to come visit the area and see the school. Any information about the school and what we should see while in the area would be appreciated. We are from the states but currently live in Germany. He is planning to study Environmental Management.

Bond University is recognized as as a good University. It is located on the Gold coast where there is plenty of sights to see. If you have time, go up the Hinterland, it is a lovely area, and coming back down the mountain, you get wonderful views of the Gold Coast.
Enjoy your time here!

Yes,I agree with Balhanna---you could also ring the uni up requesting a visit,
I am sure they would take you on a tour.
Lots of things to see on the Gold Coast including the beaches.

Thank you. Tickets are booked for April. We have been in touch with the University. Aria Apartments at Broadbeach are being recommended to us.

Bond University is a very renowned university in Australia, and he couldn't pick a more suitable subject than Environmental Management!
Aria Apartments are approximately 10 minutes drive from the university, and they are located in Broadbeach which is right on the beach front. There are plenty of delightful cafes and restaurants in this area along with Pacific Fair (shopping centre), Conrad Jupiters Casino. It is also relatively close to Surfers Paradise, Sea World and Main Beach which is a high end cafe strip.
If you have time I would suggest visiting Mount Tamborine. There are great wineries, restaurants, along with a devine cheese factory and beer brewery and beautiful natural surroundings (rainforests etc). Mount Tamborine is approximately 40 minutes drive from Broadbeach.
Travel Tips for Gold Coast
Blue Skies and Tanned skins
by jarrah21
I would head South close to the NSW border and go snorkelling near D bar!!!! Alternatively head out to the rainforest or valleys....Currumbin rock pools!!!!! When I am away from the Coast I miss the ease of getting to things and the people that are always friendly. I also miss the climate and the beach!!!!!
Sunburn
by keeweechic
The Australian sun is fierce, skin protection is simple - wear a broad-brimmed hat, a shirt with collar and sleeves, and SPF 15+ water-resistant sunscreen on exposed skin. Try to avoid the sun during the middle of the day when ultra-violet rays are strongest.

Whether bushwalking or hiking...
by finzy
Whether bushwalking or hiking through the Gold Coast Hinterland or just admiring one of the many bird species found in the area, the trip to Springbrook, Binna Burra or Mt.Tamborine won't be a disappointment. Hand feed the colourful Rosellas and King Parrots found in abundance on these mountains or go for a dip in a clear cool mountain stream it's really your choice.

Aquaduck
by grantravel
For a unique and fun way to explore Gold Coast's landmarks and waterways, go on the amphibious aquabus "Aquaduck".
The one hour round journey travels along the beachfront Esplanade, Narrowneck surfing beach to the Spit, viewing, Palazzo Versace, the Sheraton hotel, Sea World and Nara resort before driving straight into the Broadwater, Marina Mirage, Australia Fair, Mariners Cove, The Yacht club, then under the bridge to observe the spectacular millionaire homes, canals and more!
Great place to shop and people watch
by pamychan
Nothing beats a shopping area by the beach where u can shop, eat, drink and walk in the sand with sea breeze in ur hair all in the same place. On certain days of the week, there's also a open air market along the beach where small stalls are set up selling handmade gifts, organic produce etc... (something like the night markets in Hong Kong except much cleaner, organised and less crowded)
