Southern Cross Apartments: Classic Gold Coast Luxury
Southern Cross Apartments may have seemed pricey at first but after a few nights the cost looked to be more than worth it. Waking to the sunshine and fresh sea air coming in off the balcony was refreshing and enticed me down to the beach just outside. For some a hotel is just a place to spend idle time and rest their head at night, but from experience I think Southern Cross will change their minds. The facilities are outstanding for anyone looking to work on the beach bod a bit more before putting on show out on the sands and the comfort inside the rooms really makes it hard to choose between afternoon baking in the sun or relaxing a few stories up watching the world go by from the room.
Pool, spa, great location, fantastic view, plush rooms.

Radisson Resort Gold Coast: Top Notch Accommodation
Dec 2013....Now re-named Mercure Gold Coast Resort (http://www.mercuregoldcoastresort.com.au/).
I'll update review after next visit.
We have enjoyed overnight stays at the Radisson Resort on the Gold Coast a couple of times in the last six months. By booking through our auto club we have received a very good room rate of AUD 105. Not bad for an hotel with four and a half star rating. Having recently stayed at a Great Western Hotel on the left bank in Paris, we made comparisons between the two. Paris: AUD 250 for a room about twice the size of the bed in the Radisson with bathroom too small for cat swinging....no contest in the value stakes.
The rooms in the Radisson are extra large with balconies overlooking the pool or the golf course and are equipped with a king sized bed plus lounge. Rooms have mini-bars (refrigerator), tv, broadband connection and wireless connectivity, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, pull-out washing line over the bath etc. etc.
The standard of accommodation is exceptional and the staff are very attentive. We arrived a couple of hours after our nominated check-in time and had a delay of a minute or two while reception checked with house keeping for a suitable room. Reception was very apologetic and gave us a voucher for a free drink or 25% off the breakfast buffet at Chelos Restaurant and Bar.
We have enjoyed eating at the restaurant both from the a la carte menu or the buffet. If one books the buffet at the check-in stage, there is a $5 dollar discount.
Parking is underground and secure. Reception will organize a bell boy to deliver your luggage to the door to save you lifting cases up the stairs from the car park.
Rooms for people with a disability are available close to the restaurant which has wheel-chair access.
Shuttle buses to other Gold Coast sites stop at the resort.
Toll Free Booking numbers:

0800 44 33 33 (New Zealand toll-free)

We will be back to enjoy the cost effective high standard accommodation and the excellent service.

Australis Soveriegn Resort: Everything you need at a good price
Hotel rooms and 1-2 bedroom apartments, spacious with good fittings and furnishings. Great pool area with bar service. Spa and Sauna are good buy gym is very poor.
Breakfast was great, we did not eat there for other meals but the menu looked good and prices reasonable.
Good views from some rooms, be sure to ask for beach view.
The free pool towels were a hit with us... no dragging wet towels back to your room.
24 hour room service :-)
