Disappointing
When we booked our accommodation I requested a room away from traffic noise and as high up as possible . When we arrived we found our room was only 4 floors up of a multi-storey buliding and directly above a very busy bus stop. We requested another room but reception stated they were completely full but if we wanted to pay an extra $60 a night they would move us.We were staying a week so for us it meant a very noisy stay and a week of unsettled sleep.
The lobby is very well presented and mostly freshly painted throughout but the rooms show signs of age. The bathroom tiles are chipped and cracked and the room furniture is looking old.The blanket on the bed is old and not one we wanted on us so it was put in the wardrobe. The kitchen space is tiny and there is a sign saying that if your toasting or cooking sets off an alarm and the fire brigade are called you will be charged over $900. A liitle worrying when it is such a tiny space. We found the location inconvenient, you're not really at Broadbeach or Surfers Paradise. All in all, I wouldn't choose to stay there again as there are so many better choices in that area.

Nice Location, Pity about the People running it...
Our travel agent raved about how great the Marrakesh Resort Apartments where so we upgraded our package (flight plus 7 nights accommodation).
We arrived there late, so there was no one on reception, we had already advised the hotel we where coming in on a later flight, the Night Manager was incredibly rude to us and very sarcastic.
Once we where in, the room had was an ok size, quite clean. They had left a basket of food in the fridge to try and temp you, it was very over priced for the little items it had in there. So needless to say we didn’t touch it.
In the morning we went down to reception to see if we could leave our passports in the hotel safe, and again we where greeted by staff as if it was too much trouble.
The good things about the Marrakesh was the location, right between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach and it was only a couple of blocks from the beach.
In the resort apartments like this you have to clean all your dishes before you leave and get rid of all the rubbish etc otherwise they will charge a cleaning fee to your credit card. And of course if you break something you have to fix it, we advised the manager that our oven wouldn't turn on, he very quickly asked if we had broken it a few times as if trying to catch us out. At the end of the day, for all the hassle I personally would not recommend staying here, when you go on holiday the last thing you want to worry about it been charged for something you didn’t break and the customer service was terrible.
