Gold Coast weather in April??

by jewelz87

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking about traveling to the gold coast for the last three weeks in April..I have a friend who lives there so I will have free accomodation etc.. and don't want to pass up this chance to go! However I'm really curious about the weather...I've researched averages are 16-25 celsius but I'd love to hear from someone who's actually lived or been there in April!! I have a limited budget still so would want to spend a lot of time suntanning etc..at the beach and worry it will be too cold or raining all the time...any advice would be so soo appreciated! Thanks:D

The weather will be fine. Weather everywhere is unpredictable lately, but it never gets cold in Queensland.Rain is possible-but you can still enjoy the Gold Coast.

lyn is right..all year is good. No one can guarantee what the wx is going to be but for years we took a camping holiday on the G.Coast during the May vacation which is potentially cooler than April.

The days will be warm but it will cool off after sunset and no-one can predict if it will rain.

Max temps are about 25-27. SEQ has no specific wet season, so if you're here for 3 weeks it should be fine 90% of the time. But don't quote me lol.

April weather is great. I usually advise my family to come and visit then. Not as hot as January and February, but still warm enough to enjoy the sun and outdoors.

I agree with Johan. April is a lovely time to visit :o) And if you get a bit of sun in the day, then a nice way to spend the evening is to take a dinner cruise. Just make sure you take a light jacket. Also, don't forget to go to Draculas for a good evening of fun :o)

It very much depends on where you're from and what climate you're used to. For me those temperatures would be too cold. But if you're from a cold climate they would be good. It's all relative.

Travel Tips for Gold Coast

Gold Coast Tip

by Krystynn

I cannot recommend a better activity to do than to sign up for the HELICOPTER JOY FLIGHT here at SEA WORLD. You'd gasp (for sure!) at the unparallel views of the entire SURFERS PARADISE from your helicopter. Nothing short of - AWESOME!

Golf Mecca

by goldcoaster

Aside from surfing, if there is one thing the Gold Coast has a ton of, it's golf courses. These range from the Merrimac hackers, which is literally a cow paddock, to the very exclusive private courses of Arundel Hills and the Grand.

For the most part you can get a round plus cart for about $50-75 at a decent course like Emerald Lakes, where they hold the Queensland PGA. For a slightly better course, say Royal Pines or Lakelands, the only Jack Nicklaus designed course in Australia, it will set you back about $100. Most courses will insist that each player has their own set of clubs. If you don't want to bring them with you, most pro shops have them to hire at varying rates depending on the clubs.

Many of the better courses offer a free hotel pick up and drop off service as well.

3 am Nightclub lock out

by goldcoaster about Shooters, Melbas, The Drink and others

In the last council elections here, in an attempt to make the old people feel safe about all the nightclubs in town, the local council tried to make clubs shut 2 hours earlier. What has basically happened is that we now have a 3am lock out.

While the clubs still close at 5am, you have to be inside by 3am or you get locked out. For many who don't even go out until midnight it is a bit of a pain. So make sure you do your rounds early and find out which club you like the best then head back to it before 3am!

Oddly, they still allowed the casino which is frequented by rich old farts to stay open 24/7. I love a democratic society.

a walk through entertainment experience

by Dani_aus

Infinity is like a mazy thing that you walk through, it is made up of different rooms.
at the start you get given some white gloves, and as you go through, you have to feel your way around the rooms to the next push door that will take you to the next room.
each room is a totaly different experience...
for example, there's a wobbly room, which has a wobbly floor like jelly and wobbly walls. very strange to feel your way around there.
there;s another room which i think is called heaven, this one is all mirrors and laserlights.. veryyyyyyyyyy pretty
