Hi, i am a malaysian and will be taking my family to GC this June. All of us hv never been to GC and no frens there. i am hoping to get some info on the bus transportation and also some travel tips as i want to make a enjoyable and memorable trip for my family. We hv booked our hotel at Santana Resort.
i want to know :-
1) how much is the taxi fare from coolangatta airport to santana resort
2) is there any bus service from airport to town? how much is the fare?
3) cheaper to take a taxi or bus since we hv 4 pax?

Check out www.translink.com.au for bus trip schedule and a journey planner which will help you with what bus to take and where to take it. It proved very useful to me during my stay in Southeast Queensland
I would use a taxi, more for convience after a long flight. It does depend on what time you are travelling, weather it is peak hour, or off peak, bus's can be packed at times, and with you baggage it could make it hard.

LeeAnne, I sent you an e-mail about your trip to the GC offering you some information on where to go and what to do. My wife and I have live on the coast for over 20 years and know it very well.

Just sticking another pix up of Hastings Point for emphasis haha. This is the best local tip you'll get of the Gold Coast. Hastings Point is south of the border along the coast road past Kingscliff and Cabaritta. Don't blink or you might miss it is small. But you probably will not miss the lovely sight of Hastings Point lagoon as you pass over a bridge. Anyway, here's a pic from one of the houses up on the hill overlooking the ocean.
This is one of many golf courses within a couple of kilometres of each other about 5 kilometres inland from the beach.
Since it was my eldest son that booked us in, I can blame him. Still, it did give me a chance to flaunt my new clubs! I didn't play any better, just felt good. Emerald Lakes is touted as a championship course and, it's true that a championship has been played there but, compared to other courses that are available on the Gold Coast, this leaves a little to be desired.
There are excellent facilities here though, with on course lunch cart, great driving range and plenty of ball washing facilities. The carts also have on-board GPS so you can tell exactly how far it is to the hole.
The course itself though is flat and well used so it suffers a little from wear and tear.
Central Park Plaza has the second's and outlet stores for top surf name brands like Billabong, Quicksilver, Element, Roxy, Kuta Lines, Voodoo Dolls and other not so well known brands in mens and womans swimwear and clothing. There is also a discount sunglasses shop, with old lines of top brand sunglasses at discounted prices.
A Texan style steakhouse with a wonderful country atmosphere. This is one of our favourite places to go out for dinner and for special occasions. We get the ribs almost every time, but the steaks are also very appetizing. You can't book ahead at this restaurant, just show up and wait for a table (which usually doesn't take too long). My favorite dish is the Baby Back Ribs. A full rack of Lone Star’s tender ribs basted with BBQ sauce, my mouths watering thinking about it!
Movie world is classified as " Hollywood on the Gold Coast" and it is just that. It features all the things movie producers have to go through to make a movie. Hey, if you are lucky they will even let you become an extra on the set for one.
We sat through a demonstration of Make-up and sound production when we were there. There are also alot of characters walking the streets of the park to amuse both young and old.
