Transportation to theme parks from Gold Coast Hotels

by SkiMark

I am staying at Soveriegn hotel in the gold coast and want to go to a couple of theme parks. Do I need to rent a car - or is there transportation available from the hotels?

Thanks.

Surfside Buslines and tour coach companies go the Theme parks.
Surfside has 3 theme park services all stopping at Dreamworld - routes TX1, TX2, TX5.

If you are not used to driving on the left hand side of the roads it could be very confusing.I agree with the first poster--the public bus goes to all the theme parks--cheaper too.
Enjoy your time.

Travel Tips for Gold Coast

So much to do on the Gold Coast!!!

by aussirose

Visit the theme parks.
Walk up Mt Warning.
Stroll along a beach at sunrise.
Picnic on a beach at sunset.
Go see Currumbin Bird Santuary for the day.
Shop at Pacific Fair.
Shop at Marina Mirage.
Visit lovely hinterland with quaint gift shops.
See O'Reilys in the hinterland.
Just do the tourist thing in Surfers.
Go to Draculas theme restaurant for dinner.
Take a dinner cruise up the canels of Surfers.
Go south to Cabaritta, Hastings Point.
Venture further to Byron Bay.
Have a cultural experience in Nimbin.
Or a secluded beach picnic to Black Rock. Shell collecting with the kids on Hastings Point Beach sth of Tweed Heads then making shell chimes with a nice glass of wine on our mobile home verandah.
Also catching some sun at the crystal clear lagoon.

Enjoy outdoor activities without the risk of sun damage by wearing a broad-brimmed hat, a shirt with collar and sleeves and sunscreen on exposed skin. Try to avoid staying outdoors during the middle of the day.

Byron Bay

by aussirose

Byron Bay is about 1and half hours south of the Gold Coast. It has great surfing beaches, shopping, markets, lighthouse viewing, alternative stuff, nightlife and blues festival. Plus you might get to see some movie stars there as it seems to be a popular spot to build their flash houses. Anyway, Byron's a great place for a day's sightseeing.

So many good Asian restaurants, so little time!!!

by goldcoaster about Yummy House

Yummy House is a Hong Kong style establishment giving a wide variety of food styles from mainland China and its own unique style.

While the general feel of the place is quite industrial, the tables and chairs are basic but well kept, the food is the true drawcard.

From standard western Chinese meals thru to traditional Asian food, the menu is a delight for the tastebuds. I really like the beef hot pot. Quality brisket beef is slow cooked with a tasty sauce and star anice to give a very Asian taste. It is a good dish if you want to try a real asian style dish.

Australia is the best planet on the world!

Someone told me there's 2 girls for every guy in Brisbane and I it's prevelant here I'd say. Walking around the city, I couldn't believe how many women there were. Fashion seems very important, especially for the young crowd, they really seem to go all out.

If you are around in October, check out the Indy, Champ cars, and V8 super cars race that goes through the city, right next to the beach. Also, the Australia Zoo was a great experience. They've got the Roo Heaven where you are in the "wild" with kangaroos, you can walk right up to them and pet them or whatever. There's also a Koala place like this. They've got some great shows, showing off their selection of Bengal tigers (only 2000 left in the world I think), Crocidiles, snakes, birds, etc. Great experience!

The sand at the beaches squeaks! The sand is so fine that it makes noise when you step on it.
