"Sheraton Mirage Resort & Spa, Gold Coast is an oasis of rare luxury. Surrounded by 15 hectares of lush palm gardens and a sparkling one hectare blue lagoon, we are the Gold Coast's only five-star resort located right on the beach.
Enjoy views of the lush tropical gardens, the surrounding lagoons, or the rolling surf from your beautiful guest room or private villa. Suites provide unmistakable elegance and the self-contained Pacific Mirage Villas create an exquisite five-star haven with the feel of a home.
Bring colleagues together for fresh and innovative cuisine at one of our five award-wining restaurants and bars. Relax in Queensland's largest five-star resort spa, The Golden Door Spa & Health Club at Mirage Resort. Enjoy 12 wet and dry treatment rooms and a relaxation spa. Work out in our state-of-the-art health club, swim the length of our outdoor 25-meter lap pool, or play a match on our four tennis courts."
Thus goes the blurb from Sheraton and, in some respect, it has a ring of truth. They may be the only five star right on the beach, but others, notably the Palazzo Versace across the road, aren't that far away. The lagoons and gardens are exquisite but the rooms, for this type of establishment, need a little more attention.
Unique Quality: Most Australians are familiar with the name Mirage. It seemed somewhat appropriate as the con man behind the concept skipped town and ended up in Majorca where Australia doesn't have an extradition treaty.
Christopher Skaise became a legend as many sought to have him return to Australia but he eventually died on Majorca, still pleading his innocence though avoiding the opportunity to tell his side in court.
What he left behind was a number of splendid resorts in prime locations, these days owned by people who actually have money.
Typical resort hotel. I think this hotel is one of the best hotels in GC.
Unique Quality: In this hotel, Lift has seat you can sit. It was amazing for me.

Sheraton Mirage is a wonderful hotel right on the beach and is the only 5 star beachfront resort on the Gold Coast. It has 37 acres of palm gardens and a lovely blue lagoon. I had a lot of dealing with this hotel for business purposes who on one occasion performed miracles for me when I was arranging a foreign dignitaries holiday there. From what was a fully booked hotel to begin with, they shuffled and reshuffled and found me 9 rooms and suites with total security to accommodate the entourage. It was wonderful to finally stay with them and appreciate this very fine hotel.
