I would lik to know:
1. the cheapest care rental provider with good value for many
2. the taxi fare from coolangatta airport to santana resort, surfers paradise
My itenary as below. Anywhere else that I should go?
Day 1: Arrival in Gold Coast. Transfer to Santana Resort, Gold Coast.
Free at Leisure through out the day or shopping.
Day 2: Visit Harbour Town shopping centre
Day 3: Art & Craft Markets Gold Coast, Carrara Markets, Sirocco Factory Outlet, Trade Secret, Sporty’s Warehouse
Day 3: Dreamland
Day 4: Seaworld
Day 5: Movie World
Day 6: Beach
Day 7: King Tutt's Putt Putt
Day 8, 9, 10, 11????
Please help. We are also on tight budget

Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle Services offers quick and convenient transport to Gold Coast Accommodation. Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle is a subsidiary company of Surfside Buslines, the Gold Coast's local bus operator. The company operates airport transfers from Gold Coast Airport to most registered holiday accommodation on the Gold Coast. There is a booth at Coolangatta Airport.
(see website http://www.goldcoastairport.com.au/transfers.php)
Budget Rental Cars are cheapest.
Your itinerary sounds good. The beaches are safe, so maybe spend some time on them. You can also visit the Gold Coast Tourist website for more informatiom

Good answer Lynne! :o) ...Make sure you do Currumbin Bird Sanctuary and especially at the bird feeding time early morning or late afternoon.
And if you can hire a car, then the Gold Coast hinterland is a nice place to visit, taking in O'Riellys and Natural Arch.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Ann :o)

Oh ya..to add on to this, we will be staying in Santana Resort Surfers Paradise..what is the convenient way to travel to the theme parks with kids?
Thanks

I think you should break up the 3 days straight that you are going to the theme parks as they are full on days and your group will be tired, put the beach day in between so that all of you can recharge you energy, as tired cranky children are hard to reason with (this can also be said for adults).

Hi, Just a couple of things extra to previous posters. Remember that many (if not all) theme parks, shops etc are closed on Christmas Day. Good day for the beach. Also if you have a car, then consider the Tweed Coast and hinterland; maybe Tropical Fruit World at Duranbah.
Hope you enjoy your visit.
Re: Gold Coast Family Trip in Dec

Good answer Garry :o) I remember when Tropical Fruit World was called Avocado Land....were you there then? ... We used to live in North Star Resort, Hastings Point..
To the poster.....btw, there's a wonderful 'kid friendly' beach there at Hastings Point that I totally recommend if you can get down that way....south of the border past Kingscliff & Cabaritta.
Travel Tips for Gold Coast
come to SEA WORLD! ...
by Krystynn
come to SEA WORLD!
Admission price: A$54 (if my memory didn't fail me....). Er....if you've been to the Sea World park in San Diego, you may find this place kinda boring... (Shrug). I'd leave it to you to decide. But if you have nothing else better to do on your holiday, head down this way then. As you can see, I'm reeeeeally enjoying myself! ;-)
This is their official website: SEAWORLD AUSTRALIA.
Packing List
by Pagan
Family Travel As you know we are not allowed to bring in foods to Australia, so please declare any kind of food stuff that you bring that you cannot find in the country itself ie: specific baby milk powder, chili sauce etc. You'll be introuble if you did not declare and they found out. I'm sure nobody wants to start a vacation with a big mess....
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
by keeweechic
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has over 27 hectares of landscaped surrounds and bushland which is home to over 1400 mammals, birds and reptiles.
You can see native animals close up in their natural surrounds and feed the many brightly coloured wild lorikeets either during the morning or late afternoon feedings. A perfect place to also have a cuddle with a koala and have your photo taken. 27 km from Surfers Paradise.
Located on the Gold Coast Hwy.

if your a vegitarian ... dont worry, they have vegie pies too!
complete with a drive through.
It has become a tradition with my friends and i to go to yatala pies on the way home from swimming at the beach.
every time! chicken and vegie pie with

Tree top walk!!!
by adelaidean
The hinterland of the gold coast offers some beautiful scenery...Its well worth hiring a car and just follow the signs to the mountains..Stop and get out of your car and you will be pleasantly suprised at the natural beauty that is on offer.
Lamington National Park isone such placethat offers a full day of fun..
11/2hours fromThe Gold Coast is this National park....Part of the makes up the mountain
top called O'Reillys..Its up a very steep and narrow road...but well worth the trip..
Atthe top is The Tree top Walk that takes you over the rainforest canopy...The highest observation deck is 110 feet high.....
you can also see many native birds and they can be fed.
Accomodation is available..
A wonderful day out...
