Sea Plane trip to Whitehaven Beach

My first time in a sea plane!! Wow!! What fun!! :o)

Hubby and I booked it from our accommodation on a whim and I'm so glad we did! :o)

Well it was expensive but I totally recommend it!!

We took off on a nice clear day and ventured out to the reef.

Heart Reef!! .... Awesome hey!! :o)

This is the one that is pictured on so many postcards...... and we got to see it!!!

Wow!! .... How exciting!! :o)

Birdseye view of Hayman Island....the flash one we only viewed from that harbour as we pulled into it to pick people up on our day out to Knuckle Reef from Airlie Beach.

Didn't look anything much on our Knuckle Reef trip....in fact I was wondering what everyone was raving about? ..... Flash Hayman Island? pfft!! ...so I thought!!

...But as you can see here.... we only saw the harbour bit....seems like the rest is quite flash!! .... as they say.... ;o)

Well....speaking of flash! ..Here it is!!... The famous Whitehaven beach!!
You know....the one that is pictured on postcards!!

See the sand spit? That is where they stick sun chairs & a beach umbrella. ... and all you can see is crystal clear blue water and pure white sand!! Yep!!....that's it!! ....and we were headed in that direction!!

Woohoo!! ;o)

Landing was so much fun!! Did anyone tell you I'm a big kid in a plane? ..... let alone a sea plane!! Wow!! :o)

There was only 8 of us and we were given our own cooler bag containing beach mat, champas, juice & fresh fruit.

Well hubby and I found a shady spot and opened the champas to celebrate :o)

Picnic finished.... time for a dip in the crystal clear Whitsunday water!

...and a few shots to remember a great morning adventure.

This is a 'must do' for any couple visiting Hamilton Island!!

And as we zoomed off ..... it's goodbye to the crystal clear waters and pure white silicone sand of world famous Queensland Whithaven beach.

.....But not for long.... As I plan to return again next year with the family :o)
