Good accomadation
A few minutes away from the airport, marina, buggy hire & other destinations on the island.
Large apartment, good for families. Although, it was only me & my partner that shared a room.
Loved that it had all the cooking utensils, saved us a lot of money by cooking @ home rather than eating out all night & spen money on activities.
They had Foxtel but its extremely limited in channels.
Staff were attentive, answered all our concerns/questions.
Staff keeping made sure your sheets & towels were changed & garbage bin removed everyday.
If your lucky, birds come by your balcony in the morning!
Even though we asked for garden view, we had a beautiful view as you could still see the beach & the island.
Only down fall was we placed a request to be placed on a higher floor 12 month in advanced but when we arrived they placed us on level 3, so the palm trees do get in the way of the amazing view. We talked to a view other guests who booked said they booked last minute & got put on level 12 etc.
I do advise to look on scoopon or groupon. This hotel is often on those sites & provide deals were it can cost 800 for 5 nights accomdation instead of paying like the full price costing up to $1200.

Whitsunday apartments Hamilton island- family
the apartments are located close to everything and the view from our garden view apartment, level 5 was sensational. Definitely not worth upgrading to coral sea view as level 5 is the best view, as told to us by the staff themselves. We actually thought that we had been upgraded when we first got to our room as the coral sea view was amazing. The apartment is tasteful, but inadequate in terms of plates and cutlery for a family. The bathroom was a bit gross, mould in the sink and no fan. The toilet smelt the whole time. The floor of the apartment was filthy, our feet were black from walking on it from day 1. We spoke to housekeeping who gave us some toilet cleaner and floor detergent. We mopped the floor ourselves and it was a bit better. The toilet still smelt. The beds were great and perfectly positioned for a family of 4. Me and my husband slept in the bedroom on the king bed and our kids slept on the single bed lounges in the lounge room. We would definitely stay here again. Best tip is to order all food from Coles online as the prices on the island are exhorbitant.
Unique Quality: The view was fabulous.

Better alternative to a cramped Hotel room
On our first visit to Hamilton Island in 2001 the 5 of us had no other alternative but to booka 2 bedroom apartment, the cost of which I cannot remember. All other options catered for amaximum of 4 people at that time.
This time I was lucky enough to have a friend who actually owns a one bedroom apartment and she had offered for us to use it, for much less than half the advertised price, so I quickly took her up on her kind offer!!! We paid $160 per night for a one b/r apartment in the Whitsunday East block, and the going rate for these apartments is about $370 per night, so as you can see, we got a great bargain!!!
The apartments are very spacious and nicely appointed. There are 12 levels in the Whitsunday East block and we were on the 7th level, all rooms overlook Catseye Bay with amazing views.
The apartments are rated 3 and a half stars, but Id say they are more equivalent to a 4 star hotel room, and I would urge travellers to look into these apartments for a more spacious and comfortable stay on the island.
The one bedroom apartments consist of a HUG bedroom with a king size bed, large bathroom and fully equipped kitchen and very large dining/living room area, plus a large balcony overlooking the bay.
Unique Quality: The most amazing views to wake up to every morning, loads of space and amenities. About 25 tv channels.
PLUS ..... THEY ARE CYCLONE PROOF!!!!!!

Spacious accommodation for families
When the 5 of us went to Hamilton Island in 2000 we chose to stay at Whitsunday Holiday Apartments in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was both spacious and fully equipped and I would not hesitate to recommend this type of accommodation to families choosing Hamilton Island as a holiday destination. The Reef Hotel, which is probably the most popular accommodation on the Island only accommodates maximum of 5 people in a room, which is why we were unable to stay there.
In fact when Frank and I return to Hamilton Island in March 2010 we are again staying in the apartments, but this time in a one bedroom apartment that is owned by a friend of mine, thus meaning we get it cheaper!!!

Great Views!
The location of the Whitsunday Holiday Apartments is on the Resort Side of Hamilton Island. They consist of a few buildings, two of them being high rise. Great for families or a couple who want beautiful views and also the flexibility of self contained accommodation.
I stayed in a one bedroom apartment. The apartment had plenty of room, and can sleep up to 5 adults. The kitchen is a good size, and has an open area which looks on to the lounge/dining area and then straight out to the balcony. The bedroom was a good size and the bathroom good and clean.
They get serviced every few days, which i thought was fine.
Unique Quality: The location of the apartments is what stands out. From about the third floor upwards, you get the views out to the water. You have your own pool in the complex downstairs, but then across the road you also have the beach, PLUS the other resort pools and a restaurant.
Over on the other side of the island is the Marina, where you can find more restaurants, bakery, supermarket, yacht club, shops, atm etc.

Hamilton Island appartments
Location! Location!
We stayed on the ground floor at the Hibiscus apartments in 2000. Excellant spot and awesome views over Catseye Beach!
I ventured back for another squiz in 2009 and can guarantee you won't go wrong if you book here!

An apartment with an awesome view!!
Hamilton Island accommodation is expensive. The cheapest option is to get a group together and stay in one of the many private apartments. That is just what we did for our 3 days of relaxation after the big downunder Airlie Beach vt meet. With 7 people it worked out to be less than $60pp a night. That also included a buggy in the package and transfer to and from the accommodation.
I couldn't have picked a better apartment! Shorelines 14 is the best!! Overlooking the fabulous Whitsunday Islands with stunning views and on the western side of the island for awesome sunsets - we were certainly staying in a place fit for a King!! :o)
I booked through the site below and found them to be very professional.
