My Home Hervey Bay

"Fraser Island"
I live in Hervey Bay, opposite one of the most ecological rainforest islands in the world,Fraser Island. It is the largest sand island in the world. Fraser boasts crystal clear lakes, awesome coloured sands, dingoes roam freely and it is world heritage listed. Hiring a 4WD (the only way to get around) with a group of people is a highlight but I would also recommend looking at staying in holiday accomodation on the island if you don't want to camp. Holiday houses come equipped with everything and work out affordable if there are four or more people. You could spend a week on Fraser Island it is over 200km long. Outstanding bushwalking is available but always stay on the track if you get lost you will probably stay lost. Flights from Sydney and Brisbane are direct to Hervey Bay(Fraser Coast), bus from Roma St in Brisbane or Train.
"Hervey Bay"
Hervey Bay is a beautiful growing town. With terrific climate and wonderful people it is a great place to live. There is plenty to do. Bike paths run for over 14km along the beach and the water is fantastic. High tide isn't all that high and at low tide you need to walk out to get to water, but it is safe and stinger free.(Stingers are in the water from Oct-March from Bundaberg up,stay out of the water). Wonderful food and restaurants. Try Fraser Roving on the Esplanade for a great cheap meal. Fraser Roving is a backpackers opposite the beach with bar, bistro and pool. Also chinese and takeaway are cheap.
