Wow that sounds a bit wild for Hervey Bay but I have only visited not lived there.

Yes jelly fish in season can be around so you take precautions and you are always careful in croc country but you have more worries further north.

My family holiday there and love it.

When you buy choose your house wisely..face north...or have your living to the north. Have garages on the west.

We have friends living in that area and they have concrete on the west side which makes it hot as hell when those living in tree lined areas are comfortable.

Hi,

I also don't live there but visit the area. The weather is basically South East QLD weather - warm to hot rainy summers and cool dry winters. The area would get less rain than other areas. Crocodiles and irukandji jelly fish, while perhaps more common further north, would be a rarity in Hervey Bay.

As Marg suggests - if you do move to Hervey Bay choose a home that has protection from the afternoon (western) sun - the afternoon sun can make it very hot in summer.

hope this helps

Travel Tips for Hervey Bay

Tennis

by Sweetberry1

Tennis is also popular in Hervey Bay, if that is your game. There are courts in Torquay, on the Esplanade.. and some accommodation places also have their own tennis courts.
Several more dotted around the city. Gear is available everywhere, or bring your own.

Round Island Activities..

by Sweetberry1

Round Island is the closest of all the Islands. It is quite small, and people often go and have a picnic or bbq there.
It is also a good fishing spot, for those who like to throw in the occasional line.
Krystal Clear Coral viewing and snorkling tours, also stop here for their bbq lunches, which makes for a really nice day.
