Top Class Accom - Top Class Location
We were delighted with our two night mid-week stay at Peppers Pier Resort located on the Esplanade at Urangan, Hervey Bay. We were allocated a first-floor two bedroom suite with pool views. A limited view of water in the bay was available from the balcony. The outstanding features started with the efficient welcome at the reception followed by the secure underground parking and the security requirement in the lift to gain entry to the accommodation levels.
Unique Quality: The two bedroom apartment had every thing that you would need for an extended self-catered stay. Full fit out kitchen with fridge/freezer ; stove oven and microwave ; dish washer. Tableware included a six-place setting and all the cooking utensils necessary for the gourmet to do his/her thing. For a short stay there is no service staff to disturb peace and tranquillity. The swimming pool complex around which the main building is constructed even has a white sandy beach built in. Restaurants are nearby if self-catering sounds too difficult. We love our early morning stroll and enjoyed walking to the end of the nearby Pier, after which the Resort is named, to check out the fisher-folk trying to catch their breakfast. Best of all - The tariff of AUD 115 per night. For the standard of comfort - outstanding value. We will be back.

Visit the hinterland, Mt Doongul and escape from the beaten tourist trail. There is more to Hervey Bay than the sprawling town of Hervey Bay . The quaint Forgetten towns of Torbanlea & Howard. Swim in the cool waters of Wongi Lagoon and feel rejuventated! Camp over nite & inhale the fresh country air.
Amazing how close the milky way seems- the beauty of the clear night sky. Mount Doongul- amazing views to the sand blows of Fraser Island. Amazing Place! www.herveybayshiddensecrets.com.au The undiscovered hinterland- Mt Doongul- nature lovers paradise- what an amazing country!

Camping over nite & inhale the fresh country air near Wongi Lagoon- but remeber to respect the local Bunyip & don't swim at night!
Feel the unique energy of Wongi and the glimpse why this site is of such importance to Local Aborginal Tribes on their walking routes.
I was shocked to discover how few of these sacred sites are left in the area. This one could be lost as well- due to dam inundation. Definately something worth fighting for- The Butchullar Tribe are trying to protect the site from development.
Amazing how close the milky way seems-I could reach out & touch the Milky Way!
The beauty of the clear country night sky and fresh crisp air, with the sounds of nature all around you.
Mount Doongul- amazing views to the sand blows of Fraser Island. Amazing Place!
I am going to let all my friends in the UK know of this amazing place! Irreplaceable!
Certainly a secret worth discovering www.herveybayshiddensecrets.com.au
Frazer Island View..
by Sweetberry1
Three Islands can be seen from Hervey Bay.. Round Island, which is very small, and the the closest to the mainland.. Woody Island, which is much bigger, and located a little further out.. and Frazer Island, a little further on from there.
More to Hervey Bay Than Meets The Eye

"A Little Unfair..."
When I told people I was going up to Hervey Bay.. alot of times I was told - "Are you are going to Fraser Island?" and then told that there wasnt much else to keep me in Hervey Bay ..... I have to say ... I think they were a little unfair.
Hervey Bay has a unique atmosphere that I found quite relaxing...and so I found my self staying a little bit longer than i should have - but then thats the beauty of independent travelling - when a place gets to you - you can stay as long as you want !!
"Chilled and then some...."
Hervey Bay is basically made up a long promendade beside beautiful sandy beaches. It is the sort of place where you could walk alomg the beach for hours uninterupted...in peace and quiet..with nothing but the sound of the waves breaking. Glorious !
"Enough to keep you busy"
Hervey Bay has a small town feel to it which is enough to make you unwind and relax but also has enough to keep you amused. There are a huge host of picnic spots, there are plenty of restuarants and bars and a wonderful fish and chip shop in Torquay as well. And a must is a bike ride along the whole length of the beach, just make sure you dont do it at 2pm in the midday sun like I did..but then as they say Mad Dogs and Englishmen.....
