Aboriginal Culture

Hervey Bay has a moderate Aboriginal community. So finding traditional aboriginal art and craft, is not difficult.
Many stores stock a good range of locally made products, music, and art.
There is also a great museum that is run by this community.
Fruit Bats..

For as long as I can remember, Hervey Bay has always had a large colony of fruit bats. You can see them hanging from the trees, in one particular area.. during daylight.
When the sun begins to set, the sky is absolutey full with these creatures, flying to their regular feeding grounds.
I am still amazed by these creatures, and even more so by the number of them that live here.
