Hi lou, i am coming up next yr for a holiday, i am formally from mackay and would like to know if you know of "phil hewitt", he used to do the karaoke rounds at most of the pubs about 8 yrs ago and i was an avid fan of his and would love to re-create one of my many great nights out at karaoke in the pubs in mackay. cheers.

I know Gordi's Bar in Victoria Steet does Karaoke...I even had a go once. There was this guy that night who ran the show and he sang very well...maybe that was him.
Anyway will see what I can find out.

Wasn't sure where to put this but here it is anyway. There are some nice old churches throughout the town. This is the Uniting Church in Macalister St. Lovely old building which has been around for years. Actually it's where I got married!
Ill be moving to Australia in February 2011 for 6-12 months. I will be living and working as an au pair with an amazing family in Mackay. I will have lots of free time and would love to meet some fellow travelers and hear about all the places I should explore!
