Larrikin Lodge

Great backpackers hostel

I stayed in Larrikin Lodge for three days and it was really wonderful. This was mostly due to the fact that the hostel owner/manager was one of the nicest people I met during the whole trip, but also because the people staying in the hostel were very nice as well and it was just a pleasant atmosphere. Most of them were other solo travellers, but there were also some permanent residents, mostly men working in the sugar can fields, but they were all very nice people. It is not a party hostel, you rather hang around together in the evening watching TV, chatting and having a beer, but all in a rather calm atmosphere, which is why I really liked this place.
Bathrooms were clean, the kitchen and beds were all ok and most things were quite new and of good quality. The hostel has spacious outside areas where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Moreover, the hostel works together with Jungle Johno Tours, so if you want to go to Eungella National Park, they can organise it for you and you also get a discount.
