I am planning on taking my Honeymoon on Magnetic Island in March. My future Husband and I are both very keen on water activities and not very keen on stinger suits. We will be there from 23 March can anyone advise whether stinger suits are likely to be needed at that time?

is the Queensland government site on stingers. I'd rent a place to stay with a swimming pool.
thanks
It is a pity that you will not swim on your honeymoon.
If you read the link that PEDROSWIFT has given, there is good advice given to lower the risk of being stung. Please note: I said LOWER the risk.
The beaches are as controlled as possible, and precautions, if observed, cut down instances of painful stinging.
We have worn stinger suits in the past, and although they are not attractive, they do help. The Lycra ones are very lightweight, and even have hand & foot covering.
It's a pity to bear bad news but there is always a chance that the worst may happen. More on my Cairns intro if you are interested : http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/ae2c2/1caa14/

If you can get your hands on a 4wd vehicle, i strongly recoment going for a drive around the other roads on the island....
just watch you dont bump your head, hehehe
i had an egg head for about 2 weeks after my 4wd experience
Alma Bay is everyone's favourite beach as its very safe and is patrolled by the Arcadian Surf Club.
Its most famous for the Wednesday night Toad Races held at Arkies Resort which starts approx 8pm.
Most water sport equipment can be hired at Alma Bay and for diving fans one can seek out the wreck of Moltke which sank in the 1900's. It's located approx 100metres off shore, i'm sure any of the locals will point the spot out to you.
Morning and sunset tours are available with SeaKayak Tours.
www.seakayak.com.au For Bookings 4778 5424
The morning tour starts at 8am returning at 12.30pm
The Sunset tour takes 2hrs.
Tours start from Horseshoe Bay.
We found the island, located 8km North-East of Townsville an ideal choice for families seeking a relaxing holiday. This large and beautiful World Heritage island is surrounded by sparkling blue waters with golden sandy beaches, coral gardens and an array of National Park walking tracks. Our time was spent exploring the many well signed walks (the forts walk near Horseshoe Bay is a must), swimming in the warm waters of the Coral Sea and of course taking lots of photographs.
