Manly Paradise Motel & Apartments: Basic, but Comfortable

I stayed at this Motel over the June Long Weekend (Queen's Birthday). I had work in the area, and wanted some reasonably inexpensive accommodation close to where I was working. I booked into the "Budget Room" at the Motel. When I booked by phone, the young lady at Reception told me that the room was right next to the lift on the ground floor, so it could be a bit noisy with people going in & out. It proved to be no problem at all. Could hardly hear the lift. The worst part was the drunks staggering around outside on the footpaths, but that is typical of Manly on ANY weekend. The room was basic, which was fine by me. Had a double bed, bar fridge, bedside draws, hanging cupboard, and seperate bathroom. On the second night I was there, I discovered, quite by accident, that the TV in the room had a Foxtel Movie Channel. I guess the only down-side to the place was the parking, or rather access to & from the parking. I paid for the on-site secure parking, which was good. But access to it was difficult in that you had to lug your bags up stairs and out onto the street and then back into the motel via Reception. Fortunately, I only had one work bag, so it wasn't that hard. But for a family with heaps of bags, it would be advisable to park your car on the footpath in front of Reception (heaps of space to do this), drop off the wife, kids, bags, etc., and then go park the car. Same on the way out. So, with the exception of the parking, I couldn't fault my stay. Even had my bed made for me. Lucky I didn't leave any dirty undies laying around!!!. The motel itself is situated right across the road from the beach, and a couple fo doors away from some great food. I will be back again in June 2011.

Unique Quality: Outstanding charateristics - a Movie Channel on the TV!!!!!!!. I'm very easily amused.
