Caravans....cabins....even tents and across the road to the local shopping centre a short stroll to restaurants, surf club, library, parks playground.
Our friends often stay here and we have visited a number of times. They love to get up early and walk on the beach or stroll along the river...your choice.
Across the road are a few shops and lots of yummy places to eat.
There are apartments nearby so if you have friends who prefer this type of accommodation it is so handy you can still enjoy a 'get together'
Open Daily 8am-5pm
Now if you would love to stay in a quiet corner of the Sunshine Coast with a beautiful view of the still water with lots of room around you...this is the place for you. Parking no problem.
You are next door to The Waterfront Hotel with meals, entertainment, slot machines, and of course a bar area...but far enough away not to be bothered by the pub.
You can also buy a little weekend cabin nearby...some for sale.
You do need a car and you cannot just wander out to the shops. But you are very central. The back road to Nambour is near by...Coes Creek Road ..as well as the Bli Bli Road a little further along.. Fishermans Road will take you to Buderim and the David low Way will soon lead you to Maroochydore and the surfing beaches.
We had an over night stay at this motel when it was called Annie’s Motel. Our sole selection criteria was distance from the venue of a luncheon wine tasting. Having only a hundred metres or so walk for an afternoon kip after tasting over twenty Queensland wines : Priceless!
Google earth was our main reference in selecting it.
I was a little surprised when we turned up. The quaint décor both outside and inside was a little unusual but the establishment offered all the usual amenities expected of Australian motel-style accommodation. We occupied a room with a Paris theme – Eiffel Tower graphic prominent. Very comfortable with queen bed and air-conditioning.
All rooms are at ground level with parking space adjacent.
We were delighted when we arrived well in advance of the normal check-in time to be able to put our luggage in the room, park the car and walk to the luncheon venue.
With a name change a review update is due. We will try it again and report.
Note: The wine tasting was conducted by the Sunshine Coast Chapter of the Wine Guild of Australia Queensland Division. Read more here if you are interested in Wine Appreciation – Wine Education – regular tastings etc. You can join …check the web site : http://www.wga.net.au/sunshine-coat-events
Location: location: location!!
Without doubt Annie’s location is a winner.
Only a short walk to the beach and to Maroochy Surf Club, Cotton Tree and a host of restaurants and cafes.
This Caravan Park is in a great position. Just across the road, is the Maroochy River, and if you have a boat, a boat ramp is nearby. A short drive or walk, and you are at the Beach.
This park has one of the best set-ups we have been in. Fantastic pool area, including a childrens area, playground, BBQ's, very own lake, this is one of the best parks we have ever stayed in. Relaxing is the word, I could have stayed much longer here!
It does belong to the Big4 Chain, and therefore, the prices are a little higher than other parks.
We stayed in our own van, but they had some really good looking Cabins/Villa's on -site.
All I can say about this park is.........Everything was perfect, it was a spotless park, and I gave it 5*.

These apartments are right on the beachfront but you can really only see the sea from the very top private barbecue areas.
But you can hear the sea. And that is nice.
The rooms are spacious ...a bit "old style" but comfortable. Some 2 and3 bedroom units available.
There are lifts to every room, Cable TV , all cooking ,and washing facilities.
There is a great heated swimming pool; special barbecue areas for the top apartments; wide decks on the lower floors with barbecue; secure covered parking ,and somewhere for visitors to park.
Easy access to the boardwalk and close to everything Mooloolaba has to offer.
These beautiful apartments are not much more than 18 months old (as at Aug 2009). The complex is situated on the Maroochy River and all apartments have views of the ocean.Servicing of apartments as arranged. Being apartments there are ,of course, cooking facilities, laundry etc
Short term and long term stays are possible. The locals from "up the road a bit" stay here so that tells you.
Nearby is the Duporth Tavern with dinner at night till 8pm, poker(slot) machines , a TAB (to bet on the horses), a bottle shop, music some nights and a nice homely atmosphere. This is where you will find "Lefty" proprietor of "Lefty's Restaurant" which is just down the road a piece. See my Maroochydore restaurant tips. But you can eat at The Tavern too. Meals at both places very different.
When shopping, there’s no need to worry about parking, just a 5 minute walk to the Sunshine Coast’s major shopping centre- Sunshine Plaza, with cinemas, board walk cafes and specialty shops. Restaurants, coffee shops, RSL & Surf Clubs, beauty shops, Duporth Tavern and night spots are all conveniently located in our area

The Twin Waters apartments are situated on the Sunshine Coast mid way between Mooloolaba and Noosa, just behind Twin Waters Novotel Hotel opposite North Shore beach. Check in –
We booked the apartment through the hotel website and managed a good rate. The staff were friendly and efficient. TIP: Ask for beach towels whilst checking in. No beach towels in apartments.
Our apartment 84 was located at the rear of the complex overlooking the Twin Water’s lagoon and man-made beach. Two minutes walk across the bridge to Novotel reception and restaurants. The apartment was super modern and well designed, lounge/ dining/ kitchen all open planning with large glass sliding doors leading out to a spacious balcony.
The main bedroom was on the small size with a double bed which creaked but was extremely comfortable, walk-in wardrobe and large spacious modern en-suite.
The second bedroom was again small but had lovely large glass doors leading onto a private balcony. The second bathroom was roomy and modern with a laundry attached.
The kitchen came with all the modern facilities including fridge (no contents) microwave and necessary equipment for self catering. Lounge room consisted of two large sofa’s TV, DVD and CD players.
The apartments have full use of Novotel facilities which include the restaurants, room service, and all water sports of Twin Waters Resort.
Depending where the apartment is located, its approx a 5- 10 minute walk to the patrolled beach. TIP: Take the Novotel beach path not the Apartment walk to the beach, as it’s a long walk to get to the patrolled flags.
The beach is gorgeous, long and slender, becareful to swim "between the flags", as parts of the beach can be extremely dangerous for rips.
There is one main swimming pool at the front of the entrance to Grand Mecure and also each complex has a small swimming pool. Plus you have the lagoon and beach to swim at.
All water sport equipment can be hired at the Novotel lagoon. The Golf course is located before the entrance to the Novotel Hotel. A small shopping village is attached which sells all food items including grog.
We have also stayed at the Novotel and if looking for space and comfort you cannot go past Grand Mecure Apartments. However, there is no room service or mini bar which is offered at the Novotel. Basically, the Grand Mecure apartments are apart of the Twin Water Resort and offer excellent modern spacious self- catering accommodation. I highly recommend them
Overall - A fantastic family beach holiday apartment offering enormous facilities for the whole family. Noosa is approx 20mins North and Mooloolaba is approx 15 mins drive South.
We'd seen the Twin Waters resort and wanted to stay, but with a family of 4 thought it was going to cost way too much. I then discovered the North Shore Beach Houses - apartments with all you need to stay in luxury. There are two types, the original Beach houses and the newer apartments. Either is fantastic - this side of the lagoon has two swimming pools and a barbeque area, and it is easy walking around the lagoon to the resort too, where for a small fee you can use their water sports (but not their pool). It's close to Maroochydore to go shopping, and there are little cafes up the road too. Well worth a look if you want to have apartment living with a resort atmosphere.
The price below is indicative - check out their website.
Fuly equipped apartment - wide screen TV and DVD entertainment system, stunning kitchen, full laundry, probably 2 bathrooms. huge balcony, swimming pools...
The Beach Houses apartments are a great place to stay. Comprising of 2 or 3 bedrooms, lovely lounge and a fully equipt kitchen. There is also a large balcony.
I enjoyed my stay here, and found it reasonably priced. It is also very close to the beach.
