Historic Maryborough.
"Set on the lovely Mary River."
While it's in my mind :- the Mary River is unique in that it is one of the few rivers in Australia which run from the south to the north (overall easterly, towards the coast, of 'course').
It rises in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. In the hills behind the late Steve Irwin's 'Australia Zoo'.
Browse the travelogue below for river trip scenes.
Just a little start.
Much more to come.
Please pop in now and again.

"News of two German BMW motorbikers."
One day in Maryborough city I met a German girl and guy on two beautifully equipped BMW (chain-drive !?) motorbikes.
They are Anja and Holga.
We had a great chat. They had 'driven/ridden' all the way east from Germany, and then travelled down to New Zealand across to Australia here and all around this continent - well almost all around.
When we met they were heading south towards Brisbane then Sydney and later Melbourne here. Arriving sometime early '09.
We had a real beaut chat.
They very nice people and deserve much praise.
This low light shot, slightly doctored, was taken as they were leaving Maryborough heading for Tin Can Bay at the southern end of lovely Fraser Island. Date roughly Aug 16th. My camera date not set !
I'm sure they won't mind me posting it here. They are welkommen to take a copy if they wish to.
(Larger, darker original available.)
More info will be posted shortly.
