Near Montvlle, Queensland accommodation to die for.........
The owners say it is the perfect place for romance...absolutely. Honeymooners love it I am told but we loved it too.
Imagine a winding hand carved wooden walkway leading to an individually themed treehouse offering supreme privacy nestled high in the treetops with stunning views over Lake Baroon. Think of a double spa bath...log fire....champagne breakfasts.
On the website you can find a photo showing the tree houses dotted amongst the tree tops...with the possums...named Dragonfly, The Nest, Platypus.......
There are many luxury extras available...a barbecue hamper for example...a light 3 course evening meal delivered to your door....or you can join others for morning tea and lunch in the Lake Cafe.
There is much to do....swimming...canoeing...fishing or you can attempt one of the Great Walks of Queensland 56 k of bushwalking experience. Horse riding is available and of course all the other attractions you will read about in Montville and Mapleton pages. And of course the Sunshine Coast is not far away.
The place is unique...I have never seen anything like it before...... Think of a hand carved tree house.....you just have to go there.....
Guests are personally introduced to their treehouse and luggage is conveyed on trolleys....
You will find pricing on the website....more up to date that way
Now if you are interested in weddings here is a secret for you......Secrets of the Wedding
I stayed at Secrets on the Lake in 2008 with my family, whilst in the country from the UK visiting relatives, a trip we regularly make. We enjoyed the experience not only for the location and quality of the rooms but also for what we perceived to be a spiritual and warm feeling presented by the proprietors. In August 2010 we booked another stay in order to celebrate my father-in-laws 80th Birthday. Sadly the day before we were due to arrive at Secrets my father-in-law sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep.
Despite paying the full amount prior to arrival which was not part of the 'Terms and Conditions', the proprietors lack of spirituality, compassion and understanding was evident when they refused to return any of the initial deposit.
They say in their literature that 'Nothing is too much trouble'. Obviously in exceptional circumstances this is put to the test and when it comes to the dollar this was too much trouble.
A very sour taste has been left.
Lack of human compassion is unsurpassed
We have stayed in the Motel style accommodation at Montville Mountain Inn several times. The facilities offered are all we expect from this type of lodging.
The rooms are standard sized typical motel layout with a separate ensuite bathroom with shower.
Features include: Queen Size Beds ; Reverse-Cycle Air-Conditioning ; Electric Blankets; Colour TV; Refrigerator; Telephone, and Toast, Tea & Coffee making facilities ; Iron & ironing board; Hair Dryer
Other amenities available from reception include laundry facilities, crockery & cutlery, & microwave ovens.
Use of swimming pool and tennis court is included.
Tariffs (in Nov. 2011) are slightly above average for Australian motels of this style probably because of the convenient location: Doubles - $120 mid-week: $135 Friday: $170 Saturday: $290 for Sat&Sun.
We have chosen Montville Mountain Inn as it is walking distance from the shops in Montville Village. Units at the back of the complex are quiet and have parking at the front of each unit with ground level access to the room.
The price is right as well.
Although we did not stay here, we thought how beautiful it looked and how is was in a perfect location..It overlooks Lake Baroon in Montville and is nestled in a rainforest..Absolutely beautiful surroundings...Worth a look at!!
Tattugran recommended this place to us...and I can see why...It is set on 16 acres of pictuesque gardens....There are ten beautifully located "cabins" throughout the area. They are secluded , and offer privacy to the occupants. They offer large bathrooms in the cabins, all with spas, and have a cosy log fire in each as well..The nights are chilly, so what more do you want, than a spa, champagne and a log fire!!!!! Dont forget to take some favourite CDs for the piped music...and for $2.00, you can have half an hour of rain on the roof!!!!
Rosegum cottage is a two storey cottage with a suspended bed upstairs that looks over a beautiful lake...
Ducks greet you on arrival, and even try to follow you inside.
Every morning, the kookaburras would come and have breakfast with us...
A row boat is available for the man in your life to row you around the lake, whilst you
sit and just look pretty!!!!
the stay here was great.Very peacefull with just the sounds of the birds in the morning to lay in bed and listen to
Each cabin’s charming timber finish, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and dining areas, TV and CD player create a uniquely relaxing atmosphere. Their unique "Rain on the Roof" system allows you to listen to the sound of rain falling onto the roof. It is controlled by an electronic timer which allows water to be sprayed on the roof.
They are single cabins set a part from each other for privacyy and peace and quiet
