Camp for one night at Mooloolaba?
Hi, I am going to be in Mooloolaba for a single night this summer and I was hoping to camp somewhere. There are plenty of sites along the coast, which is fine, but they want a minimum 7 night booking (http://www.holidayparks.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/default.htm - all the places at this website require a 7 night booking, according to their responses to my enquiries)
Does anybody know of a decent campsite in/near Mooloolaba that will let me book a single night's stay?

Cotton Tree Caravan Park will allow one night...if they have availability...depends when you want it...very wet just now....but they are chockers at the moment
There are caravan parks in the hinterland area if you are stuck...Do you want more details?

Mooloolaba caravan park will take a single night on a sort of stand by after school hols....25th January.
Phone 4 or 5 days before you want site...then make sure you confirm you are comingthe night before.

Thanks heaps for all your efforts, wise23girl, but I have contacted those places and they only give me stand-by options if I'm not booking 7 nights. I need to be able to actually book the stay for certain before I can even confirm that I'm going. It is to attend a beach wedding in February and I have to co-ordinate my plans with other people. I just don't have the luxury of waiting until a few days before I get there before I can confirm that I have somewhere to stay. If they don't have a spot, the short notice will make it difficult/expensive to find somewhere else. I also need to know whether I'm camping or will have to get a room, because one way I need to book extra baggage allowance for my tent etc and the other way I don't. It also impacts my travel arrangements to and from the airport, which I have to confirm with someone else well before the stand-by arrangement would allow me to.
Doesn't look like there is anywhere for short-stay campers in the area unless you have the luxury of not having to plan until a few days before you go. Guess I better just make it the YHA.
