Excellent Resort, Close to Beach
We had a 4 night stay at the resort and enjoyed our stay. The resort has been renovated recently and our deluxe room looked as new. It was a large room including a lounge and coffee table, large flat screen TV, refrigerator and kettle, air conditioner and overhead fan.
The large restaurant by the pool was very popular and bookings are recommended. One evening we failed to book and had to wait until 8:30 for a table.
A large swimming pool winds its way through the garden and restaurant. We did not use the pool but the quality sun lounges were plentiful.
Beautiful Four Mile Beach is a few minutes walk from the resort and well worth a visit.
The resort is approximately 3 km from Port Doulas town centre which did not worry us as we had a hire car. A shuttle runs regularly for $7 return or $10 all day service.
Wi Fi is free when you use your own computer in the reception lounge.
Unique Quality: Large rainforest trees, very close to Four Mile Beach.

Excellent Hotel in Port Douglas
The Radisson Tree Tops is situated about a 15minute drive out of Port Douglas. It is a really excellent hotel. The lobby area is bright and airy with a bar, Internet access and a pool table. It is open at the front and back and looks out on a small tropical garden that leads tot he pool area - to give the effect of walking through the jungle.
The pool area is nice and the water in the pool is salt water drawn from the sea. This can give it a cloudy appearence but it is great for swimming. The freeform pool has a lot of palm tress around it and is well shaded. The space around it is a bit tight and on occasions can resemble a bit of a seal colony with sunbathers trying to find the sunny spots amongst a lot of shade. There is terrace bar and this is where snacks and breakfast are served. The food is excellent.
Rooms are well furnished and look out over the gardens or the pool. The hotel has washiging machines / dryers which are are really good idea for people travelling in Oz. It allows you to travel a bit lighter and refresh your wardrobe on this stop over.
I stayed here for 5 nights and it was a great location for driving trips up to Daintree Rain Forest etc in the area.
Unique Quality: Salt Water freefrom pool...with no Crocs !
Food is excellent
The availability of washing machines / dryers was great to refresh the suitcase !
The beach is fantastic and is a short stroll from the back of the hotel through Neighbours type suburbia. Unfortunately when I was there in Jan it was box jellyfish season which is Nov - Feb and you can die if stung by these things so the water though inviting was a no go zone unless you had a lycra body suit....which kinda defeats the purpose of going for a swim to cool down.
